JustineMumsnet · 18/11/2006 00:24

Sorry - we had a bit of an issue and Tech was on a plane - should go out to all overnight tonight. If you can't wait you can see it here
If you'd like to sign up for future versions go here
Best,
Mn Towers

JustineMumsnet · 18/11/2006 00:30

eek,
Not sure of the answer to that one but promise to investigate!

Tech · 18/11/2006 22:17

Hello, apologies if you didn't get the email and you wanted it. It went to you if you entered your email, and that email matched your registered mumsnet email address. There were a few that didn't match I think. That was just to stop people maliciously sending them to other people.

On the GE mums question - they are not supposed to be the same questions. Try clicking refresh in your browser (or hit F5 if you are using internet explorer) to force you computer to load the latest vesion of the page.

Regards,
Tech

Err, having read justine's post, maybe it didn't go out to everyone. Hmm. I will seek guidance from the goddesses (though probl tomorrow as they'll be out getting liquored up at this here London meetup I expect). I am but a lowly geek who follows orders. And it was Miami not Honolulu by the by. Sorry for the messings up yesterday, we'll get it all straightened out in time for the next one.

Regards,
Tech

Tech · 19/11/2006 06:25

This has gone to everyone who registered now. Sorry about the confusion. Regards, Tech

JustineMumsnet · 20/11/2006 11:48

Apologies to those who asked for it and didn't get it. I'm not sure why that happened but will ask Tech to investigate.

Tech · 20/11/2006 15:03

Hello,

I checked Batters and Earlybird as random checks and it definitely went to both of you. It may be in your "spam" folders or similar. In any case, I'll go through this thread and re-send individually to those of you who didn't get it.

Regards,
Tech

carriemumsnet · 07/12/2006 10:45

Hi Earlybird - sorry you've been having trouble. Would you let us know whether you receive the newsletter this time? It should be sent out around Fri afternoon.

Thanks

carriemumsnet · 09/12/2006 21:48

This is most annoying and baffling - particularly to a non tech person such as myself!

I will ask the tech bods to look into it first thing on Monday and see what they can come up with. In the meantime if anyone who hasn't had this week's copy wants to email [email protected] I'll be happy to send a copy out to you.

Apologies again and thanks for letting us know

JustineMumsnet · 11/12/2006 09:57

Sorry for all these problems - sounds like it might well be AOL-related. Until we sort, you can always view the most recent round up here .
They are updated every friday lunchtime, though I suspect MP will be wanting a week or two off over the festive period (slacker ).

JJMumsnet · 11/12/2006 11:13

Hiya, for AOL users, it might depend on the settings of your "AOL mail controls". If you update these to allow email from [email protected], you should receive the next one.

Here's the unofficial AOL Email FAQ

Hope all who want it receive the next one!

JustineMumsnet · 11/12/2006 17:09

Hi MerryMellowmas, sorry for the delay in answering. The sign up link is here .
Best,
MNHQ

carriemumsnet · 12/12/2006 14:56

We can only apologise to those who are still not getting MP's mail - here's the link again where you can see last week's mail out.

Do keep mailing MNHQ if you've signed up and it still doesn't materialise and we'll make sure the techs see this thread again.

Apologies again

Tech · 13/12/2006 02:33

Morning all,

Sorry this has been a pain for some. We've changed the way the talk roundup subscriptions work so that they are the same as our other newsletters. To check whether you are on the list, go to the member registration page and check the "email preferences" section. It should look something like this:

I haven't subscribed to the roundup. To do so, I can click the "Subscribe" button. Once, I do, the "No" changes to "Yes" and the button says "Stop". You can opt in and out of all these mails as and when you wish.

If you are subscribed, but haven't had the mail, the other thing to check is the top of the form under your registered email address. If you see a red error message like this

then it means we've had an automated message back from your email provider saying that the address doesn't exist. If you are sure it is right, just click "Save changes" to save your details again, and the error message should go away. When that happens we'll retry sending next time.

If you subscribed before, but the system doesn't think you did for some reason, please just click the "subscribe" button again to ensure you get this week's talk roundup.

Thanks,
Tech

Tech · 15/12/2006 16:05

Hi, this is being transmitted now. If you are subscribed and don't get a copy by the end of today, let us know and we'll look into it.

Thanks,
Tech

Tech · 15/12/2006 23:37

Hi SMS, I'll check what's happened to your copy......

Tech · 16/12/2006 00:13

OK, there are bunch still waiting to go to hotmail addresses. Hotmail has deferred them. They should go overnight.

Anyone at AOL probably didn't get it. They've been rejecting because:

"There is at least one URL in your email that is generating substantial complaints from AOL members."

AOL is basically a law unto itself and rejects email if it feels like it.

I think it might be the ad at the top that's the issue. I might try a couple again without it to see if that fixes it.... Ooh, an experiment. One will report back..... If it's mumsnet itself they don't like it will probably take us a while to get off their "bad person" list and be able to send mail through again....

Will report back,
Tech

Tech · 16/12/2006 00:32

The AOL rejections appear to have been because of the advert. I'll grab the "to" addresses of the rejected ones and resend them commercial-free. Strange that they would accept some copies and not others of the same message but say they were rejecting it on content grounds.
