These ruddy video ads are crippling the site

It has been like this for a few days now

I have a video ad at the top, a video ad to the side and the actual talk section takes for flaming ever to load

Feeling really hacked off with it this morning, I only get a short time to come on in the mornings and it has taken me forever to load a page

Hi, things should have calmed down now. We had a bit of an issue earlier, but it's cleared up. Sorry if it's been a pain.

Regards,
Tech

lemonaid - thank you, I followed your instructions and those bloomin' ads have disappeared

JustineMumsnet · 16/11/2006 20:43

Hiya,
Sorry the site's been a bit slow the last couple of days. There are a couple of different reasons both unrelated to the ads. First problem was a bit of a balls up on our part that caused the pages to be reloaded every time they were asked for (or something like that ) - this has been fixed. Second problem was that we sent the newsletter out this morning and not overnight (again a temporary glitch) and that has also clogged things up. Of course Tech would be able to explain much better than me but in short it's not the ads, it's us .
Apologies again - at the risk of public humiliation we promise normal service will be resumed tomorrow.

FrannyandZooey · 16/11/2006 21:18

Thanks Justine - sorry to assume it was the ads but when the pages are taking forever to load it is usually just the ruddy ads that are sitting there flashing at you, and you do seem to have a lot of new all-singing all-dancing adverts lately. Glad you have fixed the problems, anyway.

Like Blu, the mouse arrow and hand are still flickering when certain ads come up.

Anyone else experiencing this?

FrannyandZooey · 17/11/2006 18:28

Yup, me too Mercy

JustineMumsnet · 21/11/2006 12:37

Hello,
Sorry to hear of your troubles - can you explain further... Blu, F&Z and Mercy are you still getting the flickering?
