moondog · 15/11/2006 08:29

It's really pissing me off and I've only been here 5 mins.
It spreads over the text!!

I hate the Grauniad website on the same basis - can we have active convos "without annoying advert"?!

anorak · 15/11/2006 08:30

I was just about to start a thread moaning about this.

Very very annoying! No different from a pop-up really.

GRRR

mustrunmore · 15/11/2006 08:31

I was wondering if it was just my crappy pc/internet connection, as we get alot of pop ups and viruses! Its really annoying me, but at least I'm not the only one

throckenholt · 15/11/2006 08:32

so not just me then ? (I just started another thread about it - didn't see this one - it was covered by that bl**dy advert )

moondog · 15/11/2006 08:33

I have to leave actually as it's too bloody annoying.

(Actually I've got to go to uni but still....)

Keep up the campaign ladies.

Already have made a mental note NEVER to buy this.

This is the ad we talked about here . It is supposed to be frequency capped at one per user per day but it looks like that may not be happening. Will get onto them about it. Actually we were just saying that it's surprisingly unannoying but there you go... what do we know .

Cappuccino · 15/11/2006 08:43

I'm not annoyed, really

I'm not annoyed in the least

throckenholt · 15/11/2006 08:44

wrong ! - it is surprisingly darn annoying (actually it seems to have disappeared in the last few minutes).

Really must get on with some work .....

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 15/11/2006 08:44

I'm not getting it - and I'm soooo pleased

Freckle · 15/11/2006 08:46

I've been getting it virtually every time I click on a thread. Very annoying. I click on the Close button, but every now and again it just flicks across again.

tamum · 15/11/2006 08:47

It's most definitely not capped, unless once per visit to the page counts as capped

Cappuccino · 15/11/2006 08:49

I only had to click it once to close it and stop it going over the text

since then it's been neatly sitting at the side

have you lot all actually closed it or are you just shouting at it instead?

JoolsToo · 15/11/2006 08:49

if you catch it with your mouse the ad rolls out across the page!

tamum · 15/11/2006 08:51

Err no, of course I closed it. I guess you just have to be sure your mouse is nowhere near it.

PrettyCandles · 15/11/2006 08:53

It is definitely not frequency capped at one per user per day! It flips out every time my mouse goes over it. And I do not like being forced to click into an ad - it says 'click here to close', but how do I know that is true and I'm not activating the ad in some way?

This is a very annoying ad.

GoingQuietlyMad · 15/11/2006 08:54

It seems to be sorted on mine. I clicked on close once and it has gone. Now there is an Expedia one instead.

Pixiefish · 15/11/2006 09:00

not a problem that i'd noticed till i read this thread moondog- still not a problem though

mousiemousie · 15/11/2006 09:05

Agree with pretty candles, normally it is a risky thing to click on close for an ad

Please take it away. Introduce compulsory subscription if mumsnet needs the money rather than ads like this

brimfull · 15/11/2006 09:08

hate flashing ads but this one takes the piss!!!so intrusive, will never buy a bloody scenic ,they're everywhere anyway!
