Emoji not appearing in app

I'm using the app on iOS 8.3 and as of today emoji aren't appearing in my posts. There's a wee gap where it should be.

Oh good, I'd been meaning to start a thread myself. I use an iPod sometimes (I'm on my laptop at the moment) - no idea what OS but I don't think all the emojis have ever shown up. Some of the standard ones do like and but others don't and there's nothing at all. Not sure if that's exactly the same as what you're discussing now, I was goign to suggest that if there is some special MN smiley which isn't supported on the apps , for instance maybe it could just display the word in brackets rather than nowt, as some threads really don't make sense at all without them

the only ones i can see are in cozies 21:41 and momas 21:50

And I can see the sad I just did from desktop.

of course usimg the sad emoji from the app rather than typing in brackets gives that weird diamond.question mark thingy on the app.

Actually, I have sad faces on my version of the App in your 23.00 and 23.02, Errol. Are you on IOS 8.3?

I don't know - how do I find that out on an ipod?

But I think both of those were generated using brackets - 23:00 from desktop, 23:02 from ipod but it was bracketed sad, dragon and then the sadface icon. But weirdly I can see the one on 23:00 but nothing on the 23:02

PS - if you go to Settings>About on the ipod, you should be able to see your software version.

We've had another word with our Tech people and they're about to do a release which should fix this.

Hopefully we'll have all the faces back in action soon.

Have had the same thing, and can see none on this thread (am on iPhone app)

I can see 5 on the App version of the thread (including one group of 3 from Dawn) using an ipad. It beats me.

Great, all present and correct.

Thats 'standard' emojis only, of course. It'd still be nice if it was possible (and I realise it could be difficult) to display the relevant word if the dragon or whatever isn't available.

Just testing the others which are included in the smileys list on the browser, you've only done the yellow ones - obviously the full menagerie isn't supported.

Oh Yes they are.

yes, 'thanks' gives the flowers but 'flowers' doesn't even though that's the one that's given in the list.

The biscuit on the app looks much less tasty than the jammie dodger, and can't be used for amusing (ok, rude) pictures.

No bears or dragons on my app, cozie.
