Yes. Reported it this morning . Tech did something, but doesn't seem to have fixed it.

ilovecaboose · 09/11/2006 19:22

mine seems to be working alright.

JoolsToo · 09/11/2006 19:30

Tech · 09/11/2006 20:23

Could be. New messages are searchable now, but anything more than a few days old isn't. We'll fix the whole thing overnight. Sorry about the messing up......

JoolsToo · 09/11/2006 20:34

OMG! awwwwwwwwwwfully sorry!

LadyTophamHatt · 09/11/2006 20:36

yes me too Jt, I thought it was just me spelling the name wrong though

tassis · 09/11/2006 20:37

and another thing tech, say you search for messages that you've posted since 06/11/06, you also get ones that you posted since 06/11/05 and 04...

hope that makes sense...

Tech · 09/11/2006 20:43

Hi Tassis,

That should be OK once we do the rebuild overnight. That was what I was fixing when I broke the whole thing....

Regards,
Tech

bettythebuilder · 09/11/2006 21:24

tech, when you've finished fixing things, do you ever end up with a screw and a small spring left on the side? My dh does all the time...

Overrun · 09/11/2006 21:27

I haven't been able to check for messages for a couple of months now, think I did email at some point. It would be great if this could be fixed, thanks

hub2dee · 10/11/2006 06:48

just searchin someone's name for the last few days (infact any period of time) with no text isn't working, tech, FYI.

The overnight rebuild failed... I'm having a look now...

Tech · 10/11/2006 09:54

OK, I found the problem. I did something very dumb last night that removed all the recent messages from searches.

Here's the situation now:

Searching by content or name is OK, but there's a problem with dates.

The date index is rebuilding backwards so old messages will gradually reappear if you search by date. Messages added over the last day or so should be all OK within the hour, but it will take a few hours to get right back to 2001.

Sorry for messing it up. Never try do anything at night that requires concentration.....

hub2dee · 10/11/2006 09:55

Nice one, Tech.
