This 'Have you sent your Secret Santa gift?' reminder thing.....

Is very annoying.

While it's a good idea, it seems to scroll up the screen as I move down a thread then get stuck in the bit where I type my post so that I can't see what I'm typing.

Anyone else having this problem? I'm using an iPad incase that makes a difference.

mine has been sitting over the 'post message bit' requiring some careful finger manoeuvring. I won't be able to get rid of it until my parcel arrives, which is ok, but a challenge!

I've clicked to say I've received my SS gift and it took me straight through to the thank you thread, which I posted on.

So why hasn't the reminder disappeared?

I've logged out and in again but it's still there at the bottom of my page

I'm using desktop, Google Chrome on a PC if that helps?

Oh I don't think so OYBBK, because the message box and received button has turned grey (my message is still there...but in grey), so I couldn't use it to say thank you for another one anyway.

I clicked to say I'd sent my gift a few days ago, bit the button has reappeared. I'm confused.

Does anybody know how to change to your santa name? I tried as my giftee has received her gift and posted on the thread but when I tried to change it, it said 'username already in use'. I can't post on that thread as me.

Several people have experienced problems, Witch - it looks as if the spreadsheet got at the gin one evening and played around with some of the donor name assignments.

I think those others have just changed their name to something Xmassy but unrelated to their usual name and then mentioned the nominee by Secret Santa name so that they can see it. That might work for you?

Aha... thanks cozie, I'll give that a try. It never even occurred to me to do that.
