Why are there two almost identical topics in some sections?

For example, why do we need separate categories for home baking And cakes & bakes ? Why do we separate out the DIY and house decor topics ?

Merging the baking and cakes & bakes topics has been on our to do list for a while Blush, we'll look into getting that sorted soon.

We reckon DIY and Decor are different enough to stay separate though. Are there any other topics that strike you as tautologous?
