MNHQ is singular. Not plural. Like companies

"Apple has launched a new iWatch" not ""Apple have launched a new iWatch"

When I click "MNHQ have commented on this thread" (using Safari on iPhone 4S, iOS8) it doesn't do anything at all. So I have to scroll to find MNHQ's post instead.

I have a iPhone 6(just sayin') on iOs 8.02

This is pedantry too far in my view. I think using the correct form sometimes sounds really odd and it should be looked at case by case.

I read American tripadvisor reviews saying 'the staff was very friendly' which just sounds so odd and wrong to me.

I think saying MNHQ have commented sounds much more human than saying MNHQ has commented. I dunno, being right isn't always the most important thing when it makes words sound funny. As Winston Churchhill said, 'this is the kind of language up with which I will not put'.
