PLEASE please can we have an easy to find "unhide" button?

Help! I keep accidentally hiting the "hide " thread button when on my mobile. My favourite theead then vanishes.
Currently the only way to unhide is convoluted and frustrating esp with a mobile phone access (given up on the app as I coyldn't make it work for me).

Please can you make it SIMPLE for klutzes like me to un-hide conversations, either with a toggle function on the "hide" button so that pressing it again will undo the action, OR by installing a "jump to the lost of stuff I've accidentally hidden" page at the bottom of the "I'm watching page????

Pleeeeease??

yes! I keep meaning to ask for this. Unwinding threads is such a PITA

Aethelfleda · 29/05/2014 17:08

Aw, go on? Please? Are owl and I the only ines having trouble with this?

Hello! Just waiting to see what other posters think.

CarpeJugulum · 29/05/2014 17:18

Oh please! I often hide threads by accident and then have to faff for ages!

Imnotaslimjim · 29/05/2014 17:20

You 2 are definitely not the only ones, I keep doing it and can't figure out how to get them back (also on mobile)

OwlCapone · 29/05/2014 17:20

Don't worry about other posters.

Even an easy to find "Threads I am Hiding from" list.

Aethelfleda · 29/05/2014 23:08

Oh well, thanks anyway, I'd be very grateful if you could consider either changing the button or putting some easy-to-find link to "manage my conversations/hidden threads" on both the regular and the mobile site. Ta!

We'll have a think about how we might do it.

TheDailyWail · 30/05/2014 09:36

Another vote from me to have it!

DorothyGherkins · 30/05/2014 09:39

Yes my clumsy fingers have accidentally hit hide just as the thread is coming to a climax and I never found out how things finished.

RowanMumsnet · 30/05/2014 10:08

Just in case we end up replacing one of these buttons (going off-piste here mind, not promising anything...) which one would you be happy to lose? I'm thinking 'Last day' probably doesn't get a lot of use these days given the volume of new threads started, but I could be wrong (I often am):

Active | I'm on | I'm watching | I started | Last 15 minutes | Last hour | Last Day

Nocomet · 30/05/2014 10:10

Please, I've just hidden something by mistake. It's an utter pita having to read the desk top site on my phone to sort it out.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 30/05/2014 10:12

Oh, yes please!

I've never used any of the Lasts or I started. I had never noticed I started but might use it now I know it exists. I'd happily ditch any of the Lasts for an unhide button.

I hide threads when they are winding me up. Somehow pressing the hide button puts a little breathing space between me and the thread. However I invariably want to check them again later.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 30/05/2014 10:14

Nocomet are you using the App or the mobile site? You can access it via the Customise button on the mobile site without having to use the desktop one, don't know about the app.

EduardoBarcelona · 30/05/2014 10:16

its almost as hard to find as the Return to mobile button on your phone when you go to the desktop in error

Nocomet · 30/05/2014 10:22

You can make the hide button vanish, but you can't sort out mistakes.

I tried running without hide, but that annoyed me too.

OwlCapone · 30/05/2014 10:24

Just in case we end up replacing one of these buttons

Throwing in an alternative to replacing one of those buttons, how about a new option under the "My Mumsnet" button?

OwlCapone · 30/05/2014 10:25

And, within a thread, a toggled hide/show button to replace the ordinary hide one.

and a Star emoticon for the Woolly Huggers

ophiotaurus · 30/05/2014 10:26

Another vote from me too. I do this and it's very annoying.

Ooh. Yes please! This is the bane of my life. Either that or a box that pops up saying " did you mean to give this thread?"

Aethelfleda · 31/05/2014 00:01

Yep, either losing "last day" or "I started" (as most of us can either remember what we started, or will watch it or use "I'm on", I'm guessing?

Or a toggle hide/unhide button, or an easy linky at the bottom of the "active convos" or "I'm watching" page.
Whatever is easiest to implement, really I know nothing about this coding lark

Thanks! Flowers

I use ive started. And I'm on

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 31/05/2014 08:53

A button similar to the hide button would be best or perhaps an undo link on the bar that comes up saying the thread has been hidden. As its usually done by accident it would be ideal if you could just unhide the thread you have open without navigating away.

Oh and I don't have I started or last day button ?
