Serious! Active. Amazon glitch

The 'active' button seems to have been hyperlinked with Amazon instead - it takes me to this page

Is most annoying - has been so all day for me too. Firefox on mac

Seeline · 20/05/2014 08:09

The link to Amazon is still happening for me this morning. It is the floaty bar when on active convos for all 3 buttons. Seems to be working OK if using from other screens.
I'm on a desktop pc using IE9.

Tis getting really annoying now Sad

bookcave · 20/05/2014 11:36

Still there for me this morning too and the site is being very slow too.

lougle · 20/05/2014 13:04

Me three. It's awful and I couldn't face buying the book after seeing the cover so many times.

QuintessentiallyQS · 20/05/2014 13:07

I have had that happen to me a few times.

I figured it is enough for the mouse to chose hover accidentally over the ad, to go to that page.

It does not make me want to buy the book. It is just annoying.

"I figured it is enough for the mouse to chose hover accidentally over the ad, to go to that page."

I don't think it's that, Quint, because I'm clicking the bookmark on my browser, which is set to take me to Talk. I can load a fresh instance of Google Chrome, click the bookmark, and despite the hover saying 'www.mumsnet.com/talk', it's the cookery book which loads on Amazon.

catsrus · 20/05/2014 13:23

LOL - it's happening to me too. Firefox on a Mac - all three of the top bar options link to the Amazon MN book page - but only when in Active conversations. It's the same in Safari too. The hover-over information appears to be correct, shows that it should be calling the page "I'm on" etc but actually selecting the boxes takes you to Amazon.

Thurlow · 20/05/2014 14:29

I've just started getting it. Using Chrome. It happens when the page is minimised in anyway because I'm at work trying not to be too obvious and if I try and click on Active of I'm On from the Active convos page, I get sent to a new tab instead with the Amazon MN book.

Thurlow · 20/05/2014 14:30

I think it's because I'm on the Active page with the massive adverts down the side, so when the page is minimised it's getting confused and thinks I'm clicking on the advert?

catsrus · 20/05/2014 17:14

nope - nothing to do with minimising the page - mine is full screen on a large monitor Grin

MrsLettuce · 20/05/2014 20:23

Still all the same as yesterday here too. Clicking on 'Active', I'm on or 'I'm watching' from active convos goes to amazon. It really is very annoying.

Thurlow · 20/05/2014 20:58

Weirdly, I don't get this at home using Firefox - I don't get the Amazon sidebar advert at all! I don't think I have any exciting adblock on here either.

Trills · 20/05/2014 21:36

I wanted to report this too (Firefox, Windows 7)

Clicking on "Active" in the viewport bar takes me here

MrsLettuce · 21/05/2014 10:54

Wonderful, you've sorted it!

BlameItOnTheMoonlight · 21/05/2014 11:35

Yep, sorted for me too, thanks :)
