Page not refreshing to correct place

I am viewing the mobile site on an iPod touch using iOS 6.1.6. When the page refreshes (for example if I open a new tab and then I back to the original one) the page loads but remains at the top of the page. It's really annoying with even moderately long threads!

Is this a problem with my settings or a MN issue?

According to tech this is just a browser thing, not a MN problem, BUT if you use the handy bookmarks, you should return to the right place.

Does that sound like it could work?
