Mumsnet discount partners - who would you like a discount from?

Hi all,
We are aiming to be a bit more proactive about approaching companies to get discounts for mumsnet members but before we did we'd thought we'd throw it over to you guys. Which companies are on your wish list for 10% or so off? Can't promise they'll play ball but promise to try any where there's a consensus. (feel free to nominate more than one by the way)
Many thanks in advance,
Justine, Carrie and Rachel

Prada

Seriously I think M+S or perhaps petrol...
As we are moving a real esate agent discount would be good
Tops
Ocado - I'd use it most definitely!
I've used the Boden one loads too

Janh · 17/03/2004 19:38

LOL, Tinker!

Poundland...Poundstretcher...Iceland...Wilko's

flamingo · 17/03/2004 19:50

babbington house
myla or figleaves
traidcraft

tigermoth · 17/03/2004 19:56

Lol and agree tinker!

Extending my wish list to include special offers, not just discounts:

Cut price theatre tickets for children's shows

Offers on YHA membership and family rooms (four nights for the price of three perhaps - they did this one year). The YHA seem desperate for new members and want an image change (away from single, young people) so it might be good to approach them.

Offers for legoland and other such attractions.

Discount at Hennes

Dmum · 17/03/2004 19:58

Boots, Mothercare, Grobag(think they're Bump to 3 now?, Argos, Babiesrus, Amazon.

Gem13 · 17/03/2004 20:00

Another vote for play.com

Kiddicare too. There's been loads of rave reviews on here for them.

Kiwidad (e3 explorer man) should give a discount for the amount of free publicity he's had on here!

bossykate · 17/03/2004 20:00

must check all these out! must be good if everyone wants discounts there.

btw - tinker, when i go on mat leave i'm planning to try out lidl, sssshhhhh! don't tell dh!

Tinker · 17/03/2004 20:03

Secret is safe bk.

Following on from tigemoths' days out suggestion -National Trust membership discount.

Tinker · 17/03/2004 20:03

tigermoth's I mean!

elliott · 17/03/2004 20:39

What about a cloth nappy seller - I'd suggest twinkle twinkle (though I know PHP do them too, just never got 'into' them)
Also letterbox?
Waitrose/ocado no use round here, wouldn't use it anyway.
Other suggestions I would use:
orchard toys
verbaudet
lakeland
Wouldn't turn my nose up at jojomamanbebe or blooming marvellous either.

mez75 · 17/03/2004 20:43

I'm really disappointed now - went to play.com hoping for a children's toy paradise....

Mummysurfer · 17/03/2004 21:57

baker ross
amazon
the book people

stupidgirl · 17/03/2004 22:14

Oooh, yeah, the book people, and red house.

Twink · 17/03/2004 22:18

I'd like to say Pin Toys or Plan Toys (same same, as they say in Thailand) but I think we're all in a better position to buy them than the people who make them so I'd rather profits go directly back to the Thais.
BUT, the toys are fab, trad wooden stuff which lasts really well, with a relatively good eco conscience for the Guardianista/Waitrosista/ & esp Ocadonista too

Janh · 17/03/2004 22:21

Oooh, Twink, you are so Right On!

mummytojames · 17/03/2004 23:34

all magor supermarkets and department stores even if they only offer free delivery online it would help alot

I'd like a discount from Guinness

Kayleigh · 18/03/2004 16:30

Ocado
Orchard Toys
Lakeland
www.slapiton.tv (cosmetics)

Agree that if companies were just offering free delivery I'd be happy (Ocado do anyway on orders over £75)
