Has the policy of Chat threads being deleted after 90 days been changed?

I just wondered as I was searching for something earlier, and a Chat thread from 23/09/13 popped up, which by my reckoning is 158 days ago.

Is it just a glitch?

As I mentioned above, because someone asked the same queston :

"Please note that threads in this topic are removed from the archive 90 days after the thread was started. If you would like your thread to be retrievable for longer than that, please choose another topic in which to post it."

That quote ^^ is from the top of the Chat topic.

I so need to read more... That'll teach me to stop just creating a new thread via Active conversations.

It's an important problem that needs to be sorted.

There are ones going back to the beginning of Sept, 4th to be precise

That makes 180 days ago. Interesting that it's exactly twice as long as the usual rule of 90 days before removal

Sorry I meant to say the earliest threads in Chat are posted on 4th Sept, there aren't any before that

I agree, Valp, 180 days ago is 90 days too long. Something's gone seriously wrong here.

So, a bump for Tech

A thread I started under an old nickname which I definitely wanted to disappear is still there from September.

Zombie can understand that tracking down the reason no Chat threads have been deleted for 6 months may take some time. But why can't Tech or HQ just clear the 270 pages of threads now and sort out the root problem ASAP?

I agree with Zombie - and Zany's post ( A thread I started under an old nickname which I definitely wanted to disappear is still there from September ) is a case in point.

So, how's it going with this problem - MNHQ/Tech?

Have they all gone yet? I think there may still be a few that should be deleted?

My ones have now gone.
