Sounds...mercenary...but I think it might not be a bad idea?

Who to contact and how?

Davina
Fern Britton
Kate Winslet
The Beckhams

who else? C&P with your own suggestions maybe? And if you know how to contact anyone on this list...please do, there's a love

but what we need is support now. I think most think it's unlikely that famous parents will give money, but if we could get famous parents to comment on certain artacles in certain newspapers saying how mn may have been of support to them ... but, realistically how many famous parents go on the internet and come on mn? Most of them have full-time nannies looking after their children while they keep up their work commitments, and those that don't can afford to pay for an expert to help them through their parenting problems. People like Fern are in the minority imo.

What about Madonna?

proudofmyboobs · 09/08/2006 10:29

How about Jane Moore? She is a mother and she writes a page for the Sun newspaper, I think it's wednesdays she has her column.. very down to earth and scathingly sarcastic when she needs to be!

my OH worked on 'Bo selecta' but it's not running again for a while.still would be fab to have a spitting image style mask of her on t.v

Vic Reeves (or Jim Moir in rl) has just had twins with Nancy Sorrell - I reckon he'd be up for it to add weight to the campaign.

Oh Fern, come out, come out, wherever you are.

We do have Cod though. "Salisbury Magistrate defends Mumsnet"

Orlando · 09/08/2006 15:26

India Knight

(though we've caned her in the past here too. The thinking seems to be that she visits, iirc.)

suzywong · 09/08/2006 15:26

we can't contact the beckhams or madonna, there have been one or two snipey comments about them here

LIZS · 09/08/2006 15:29

was wondering this too. Fiona Phillips and Kate Garraway spring to mind from GMTV and is Andrea the weathergirl pg ?

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 09/08/2006 15:31

Apparently Boris Johnson sympathises but is away- or do his office says

made me anyway

Fimbo · 09/08/2006 15:43

Lorraine Kelly

lillabean · 09/08/2006 16:09

maybe a comedienne?

they tend to be piqued by issues of free speech.
(i.e. Rowan Akinson's crusade against limits on religious free speech in relation to art/comedy)

Maybe a mom like Tasmin Greig, (Greenwing, The Archers) she is a mom to three.

suzywong · 09/08/2006 16:18

Jenny Eclair

She's a gobshite and a good laugh, she would HATE the idea of being told to shut up about anything

cupcakes · 09/08/2006 16:24

Not sure about Jools Oliver - in her book she seems to adore nobody. Or at least nobody's methods.

Fimbo · 09/08/2006 16:27

Please note: Phil regrets that he cannot pass messages on to, or supply information about, his wife, Fern Britton. If you wish to contact Fern its best done through Fern?s agent Mr John Rush. [email protected]

Managed to find the above from Phil Vickery's website - anyone want to contact Fern?

NomDePlume · 09/08/2006 16:30

I think Rachel, Justine et al have been on This Morning, so Fern will have already met them. Maybe a positive in gaining her support.

What about Richard and Judy ? They love a bit of power to the people type stuff.

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 09/08/2006 16:33

Did anyone ever get a reply from Mr cameron?

SaintGeorge · 09/08/2006 16:34

Mr Cameron is on a yacht somewhere so doubt any significant reply from his camp.

Fimbo · 09/08/2006 16:35

I could just see Richard Madeley getting his teeth into this.

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 09/08/2006 16:36

India Knight already e-mailed a reply to someone

Dawn french? jennifer Saunders?

Alibaldi · 09/08/2006 16:37

Never thought I'd be saying this but what about Cherie Blair. She's a human rights lawyer who does pro bono work. We've had our freedom of expression infringed. She's also a mother and well likes a good cause

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 09/08/2006 16:38

she's in barbados though isn't she?

Mind you, had it not been silly season when they're alla way, we may not have got the coverage so......

dizzybint · 09/08/2006 17:04

i was just going to say cherie blair. human rights and all that.

Alibaldi · 09/08/2006 17:24

I'm going to email Booth's (Blairs office) she's always winning these cases. And she does pro bono (i.e. free) Nothing ventured nothing gained and anyway, 'bout time the Government protected Civil Liberties isn't it.
