Happy New Year one and all.

We hope that you all had a lovely festive period and are enjoying the DC back at school well? Grin

Mumsnet Local Editors manage their Mumsnet Local site, keeping it clean, tidy and up-to-date. They write newsletters and work with local ambassadors (voluntary) to hold meet-ups locally.

Local Editors can make money by contacting businesses local to them and asking them to advertise on their local sites. If you become a Local Editor, you will keep the revenue from the local advertising and offers that you book.

If this sounds of interest to you, then please do send us an email on [email protected] with 'interested in becoming a Local Editor' in the subject field. It helps if you tell us a bit about yourself in the email.

Local is still in its infancy but it's growing all of the time: In the last year we have seen some local editors who have been working hard to build local contacts and communities really starting to see dividends, with several seeing monthly earnings topping £1,000. It is slow and steady but the potential is great for the right people.

We very much look forward to hearing from you if you are interested or have any questions.

Happy New Year

Sorry, I thought I had been given Tyneside. I am just writing my intro, should I stop?

LEDundeeAngusFife · 09/01/2014 12:18

To add to what the others are saying - being a LE takes a fair bit of time to get things going but it is interesting.

It helps if you have a bit of sales and marketing experience, and are willing to persevere.

We could really do with people using the sites more - so even if you don't want to be a LE, pop over and have a look.

I have chat threads for Fife and Angus here, and I do sometimes feel like I am talking to myself. Would be lovely to meet others from the area.

I am also writing a blog for Dundee Angus and Fife Local and will be updating it regularly.

What she said ^^

Oxford Talk
Oxfordshire Talk

Please come and have a look. It's fairly active and will improve the more you contribute. If you do nothing else then have a look for a business you have experience of and give it a star rating - you don't even have to write a full review. Something along the lines of "Great chocolate cake but the service sucked" would be so helpful!

LESuffolk · 09/01/2014 12:36

Suffolk Local here.

I have cookery book review threads and childrens book threads. i have campaign threads too even though just a few of us talk to each other!

First ad on today (at last!) today - Thanks to LEDundeeAngus for the huge amount of help she has given me -I owe you big time in RTs and mentions.

Come click on my ad - it is for alcohol. Much needed by me after today.

RiotBecky · 09/01/2014 15:06

I'm interested in Rhonda Cynon Taf

LocalEditorOxford · 10/01/2014 08:54

I know someone has applied for the Berks role - have you received her email?

Muddlewitch · 17/01/2014 11:14

I emailed about the Hampshire role but haven't heard anything back yet, so should I assume someone else has taken it on?

RebeccaMumsnet · 17/01/2014 13:51

Hi Muddle,

I am replying to mails atm, you should hear back from us soon.

I would like to add a listing to my local mumsnet which is Bristol and would like one or two out of date entries to be edited. However I can't access this part of the site any more - when I try to log on (even if logged onto the main Site) it tells me I don't have permission to access this part of the site. What's going on?

MrsPennyapple · 20/01/2014 21:08

I haven't had a reply to my email either.

LucyIMumsnet · 10/02/2014 10:55

@topknob

Rebecca, I did email you :) can I have Southend please as well?? If no one else has asked.

Hi topknob, we've got someone already interested in Southend. However if it comes up again, we'll keep your email address on our list.

mjmooseface · 11/02/2014 10:57

I think that this is something that I would love to do but in a few years, though! So if Derby still needs a local editor in a year or two, I'm so there! ;)
