Really, really, really REALLY!
Bring back all in one page.
That is all! As you were!

Really, really hate it.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/01/2014 02:44

It loads no more quickly for me here either. Im using Explorer.
The 2 page thing is driving me bonkers though. I read the thread, go to comment and then realise there is a whole other flipping page and Im hours behind! Sad
Wasn't 500 posts a page an option before? Even if it wasn't, If Id have had any trouble loading, I would have just switched to using pages, which I didn't, because it wasn't a problem!

Perhaps the pages would load quicker if you didn't have

Reviews
Insights
Blog of the day
Random adds (which I don't see, as I have adblock on)
Recipe of the day
Local
Useful tools.
And twitter on some
plus the drop downs

It is all that stuff that slows down the loading, not how many posts you have per page.

I hate having to have pages! I have often closed a thread because it has pages, because I have to load 2 tabs, (all with a variation of the above, which means I am downloading it twice - which eats into my download limit) Not to mention how confusing it is to have to read across 2 tabs.

And yes, I know I don't have to open 2 tabs, but if a thread has the potential to go poof, I'd like to read it all before it does so & having to reload another page puts an end to that!

differentnameforthis · 02/01/2014 05:44

saggy, there has been the page option for quite a while now. I just had it all on one thread, which was much easier.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/01/2014 08:12

I knew about pages, I wasnt sure about if we had the 500 post option. ive never used any page option. I like everything in one place. Sad

I've already posted on this, so just adding my support to this new thread.

But as I said before, if you half the loading time, but have to load two pages, then you havent really halved the loading time, have you Grin

not that I've noticed any change in loading time either, safari on ipad and android app

bruffin · 02/01/2014 09:56

I have as well. Its not quicker and had made it almost unusable on long threads. I have to go on the app to answer on a long thread. The app is horrible as well. Active has loads of stickies going back to september and you cant highlight OPs posts.
Would really like last 15min search on mobole or app

Ninehoursahead · 02/01/2014 10:14

I don't like it, please make it stop. Thank you. Grin

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 02/01/2014 10:15

I hate it too.

I know I mostly lurk these days but I would like to lurk in comfort Wink

And I just don't seem to be able to find the end of a thread without faffing.

I'm on safari.

Can it be optional?

deirdrae · 02/01/2014 10:17

Haven't noticed it load quicker. It's a false time saving device, I think, as you have to then click through to second page and place needed.

Mine doesn't load any quicker either. Always use mobile site on safari.

Pleeeaaase give us option of no pages again???

ApplesinmyPocket · 02/01/2014 13:44

Everything Maryz said is spot on for me:

"We all knew about pages.

We just didn't want them, that's why we didn't have them."

"But the real problem is for those of us who have never used pages - not being able to scroll up the whole thread, or see all the op's posts is a pain."

Exactly.

BackOnlyBriefly · 02/01/2014 13:45

I keep getting caught out thinking I'm reading the last post when I'm reading the 500th and there are more on page 2.

So I load the other page and there goes the saved loading time.

But that's not the end because I want to refer back to an earlier post so I load page 1 again.

Pascha · 02/01/2014 13:48

I started the first thread.

Since then I haven't noticed the site loading any faster. I haven't had any real problems with remembering to jump to page 2 either.

So I don't really mind it now.

Sorry Blush

LoisEinhorn · 03/01/2014 22:52

Hate it and it doesn't load any quicker for me. I'm on Chrome
