I can't post on threads

I'm using Microsoft Internet explorer, and I can see the box and type in it, but when I try to preview or post, nothing happens.

How can this be fixed?

Oh now that is really strange. At first I thought I would have no luck because I am still on XP and my 'compatibility view' doesn't even have IE9 in it. It has IE7, IE8 and IE8 Compatibility.

IE8 Compatibility was selected so I changed it to IE8 and...

... ta dah!!

Oh Chipping, if I could have posted I would have told you.

I thought it was work or something, being all "get off MN and do stuff" in a subtle way.

Me too. Preferably before trying to post 'cos if you forget and try to post and then do the F12 thing you find you have lost all your words of wisdom!

I have to keep doing the F12 thing... I can tell as soon as the main talk topics page loads... if the page doesn't load correctly, I have to F12-it.

Small price to pay for Mumsnet.

I've had to go back to Firefox. And still having lots of problems. It's very very slow. I have to keep changing backwards and forwards.

I'm still having to F12 frequently. I have changed to IE8 this time, I'll see how that goes.

5ft5 - I have been 'copying' any long posts before I try to send them!

lost - I know! I don't know how MN has coped without us??

Chipping I'm doing exactly the same. I have to reset F12 everytime I post and I, too, copy my posts before I hit post message, just in case I lose it all!

I am also still having this problem and have to F12 and switch to IE9 (not IE9 Compatability Mode) every time I want to post.

Is this a permanent thing?
