Well we did say that there would only be one prize, but we'll have a look in the MNHQ swag cupboard (not in the Towers atm) and see what we can do, can't promise anything though!

Get excited guys. We have a cracking prize up for grabs: two fabulous Den Kits from Flibberty , pictured on the left, one for the winner, and one for the runner up.

Oh crikey, we did say that Blush Blush

Sorry guys, bit of a balls up on my part! There is a second Den Kit for the runner up, but since it's tied between Thewalkingdeadkr and TEErickOrTEEreat, we'll either have to get all King Solomon, or figure out an alternative. Which will deffo will - we're not reneging on our promise of a runner up prize, we've just got a terrible memory.

This will be sorted, promise!

What about upgrading the winner's prize to something else (come on, get that piggy bank out) and give the runner ups the den kits?

In my head it's more jolly hockey sticks, though I appreciate that may not be a redeeming quality for some people.

ZingWantsCake · 30/10/2013 14:02

kate

what are jolly hockey sticks?

[under-educated Grin]

you're cool. but no pink glitter ok?Wink

And while you are here, can you please get Tech to do a Gin as a nice little gift for all of us?
More for you than us of course, still it's waaaaay overdue!

stealthsquiggle · 30/10/2013 14:04

I think shades of jolly hockey sticks are forgivable in the context of den kits, personally.

Do you think if enough of us say how enviably cool those den kits look (which they do, BTW, my DC would love one) the manufacturers might come up with a third one to resolve the problem?

I am sure the cheaters deserving second prize winners could turn their canvassing skills to promoting den kits...

OhAntiChristFENTON · 30/10/2013 14:06

I'm not sure about the jolly hockey sticks, Zing. I have in mind an Enid Blyton type scene with annoying over enthusiastic public school gals.

OhAntiChristFENTON · 30/10/2013 14:07

[manhattan] would be nice while you're at it.

OhAntiChristFENTON · 30/10/2013 14:12

Oh I found this on Jolly Hockey Sticks!:-

One of Archie’s tutors was Beryl Reid, who played the part [in Educating Archie] of a ghastly schoolgirl named Monica, a parody of the sporty public-school type. She invented the phrase jolly hockey-sticks! on the show because, as she said once, “I know what sort of thing my characters should say!” Her phrase struck a chord and it has passed into the language.

ScrambledSmegs · 30/10/2013 14:20

I think a bottle of gin would make a lovely 2nd prize. Surely you have hundreds one stashed in a drawer cupboard somewhere at MNHQ?

Thewalkingdeadkr · 30/10/2013 14:23

Yes ask then for another one!

They do look fab, I wanted to give it to ds and his little boy for Xmas.

Ill swap it for shoes tho.

TEErickOrTEEreat · 30/10/2013 14:56

I'm American. What on earth is Educating Archie?

To be honest, I'd rather Gin over a den kit.
