Blue dot in the PM envelope

Dear MNHQ

Is the blue dot in the PM envelope here to stay? It doesn't catch the eye like the red one did & would be quite easy to miss. Sorry to moan ...

Yes, flashing would be good - just something to catch your attention. Or maybe little, colour co-ordinated - obviously, fireworks erupting from the colour co-ordinated blue dot?

The thing about the red dot is that it went away as soon as you read the message too - so its not exactly uncoordinated for long - even if you think red is uncoordinated on a blue and purple page.

I like the firework option though - I bet Tech would like that challenge Wink

Pale duck egg blue is my favourite colour, if you could organise that, please, Helen.

MarshaBrady · 12/07/2013 10:59

The blue makes me feel like my post has been put in the fridge .

Sounds quite attractive in this weather, MarshaBrady Smile

MarshaBrady · 12/07/2013 12:42

Ha yes.

FruOla · 12/07/2013 19:47

Now .... I've had another thought.

The old one was yellow with a red dot - nice and obvious
The new one is yellow with a blue dot - a bit bland

I'm not colour-blind, but I wonder how people who are colour blind see the old versus the new?

BOF · 12/07/2013 23:29

Noooo, I miss the red blob! I loved it

Thumbwitch · 16/07/2013 19:55

Just adding another "I CAN'T SEE THE EFFING BLUE DOT LIKE I COULD THE RED ONE" and because of it I missed a fairly important PM from 6 days ago. :(

The situation has been retrieved but the blue dot is FAR LESS VISIBLE and poncey designy or not, it DOES NOT DO THE JOB IT IS SUPPOSED TO.

I'm a little bit sorry for shouting but not much because I HATE THE BLUE DOT and want the red blob back, please.

I'm not colour blind either but the blue just doesn't stand out against all the other blue/purple/mauves on the page, whereas the RED one DID and therefore was FAR MORE SENSIBLE.

Please bring back the red blob. Thanks

Don't worry, we've seen your post. We're having a think. Smile

JustineMumsnet · 17/07/2013 11:02

Okay, okay you win - we shall make it red again. Poor KarineMumsnet (designer) will be sad but we shall make it up to her in other ways. Gin.

Thanks as ever for your irksome constructive feedback. Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 17/07/2013 11:28

Yippee! Thank you.

BIWI · 17/07/2013 11:31

Did you warn KarineMumsnet of our fondness for change, Justine? Grin

(And I really, really think we need a gin emoticon ...)

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 18/07/2013 08:42

I've still got a blue one just now Sad Grin

FruOla · 18/07/2013 08:45

Me too! I guess Karine will be changing it back some time today?

prettybird · 18/07/2013 08:49

Great. Smile

BTW I'm still on Mumsnet Classic Wink

Thumbwitch · 18/07/2013 14:03

Ummm - still awaiting the promised return of the red blob, if you please - I just do NOT notice that blue splot, I have to actively remember to check if there are any PMs for me, whereas the red one stood out and said "LOOK! YOU HAVE MAIL!" [excited]

Can you please give us a clue as to when we might expect normal service to resume? Thanks

HelenMumsnet · 18/07/2013 14:36
