Hello.

We've had the odd occasion recently when one or two invaders/spammers/trolls have visited MN in the wee small hours UK time - and, because we've all been tucked up, we've not been able to respond to your reports of their posts till the morning.

So, we were wondering if any overseas Mumsnetters would be willing, in the course of their usual business on the site, to keep an eye out for very obvious troublemakers, and instead of reporting as spam or a troll, delete them.

We're not looking for minute-by-minute surveillance; just folks who'd be willing to hit the delete button if necessary: a carry-on-MNing-as-you-normally-would-but-just-be-around-to-delete-a-nonstop-spammer kinda thing.

If you tend to do your Mumsnetting during UK night-time and are interested helping out do please let us know, either by posting on this thread or by mailing contactus @mumsnet.com

Happy to help if more needed - US east coast, so 5 hours behind.

nooka · 07/07/2013 03:55

West coast of Canada here, and happy to help. I've certainly been around when there has been some some crazy spamming recently. We are +8hrs, and I usually mumsnet in the evening during the week, so about 2-4am UK time.

RantyMcRantpants · 07/07/2013 03:59

I'm GMT +3 or 4 hours ( depending if it is your British Summer Time or not) Don't know if that will be any use to you.

LoveBeingUpAt4InTheMorning · 07/07/2013 04:00

Sure they'll be enough already but I'm often around in the night and happy to help.

Moknicker · 07/07/2013 04:51

US East coast. Happy to help.

wrinklyraisin · 07/07/2013 04:55

Another US east coast person willing to help out. Though I always seem to be on when you do the night time shut down thing

Also tend to be on AIBU or FWR where the trolls like to hang out.

Jacksmania · 07/07/2013 05:56

West Coast of Canada here, too.

GMT -8

I'd be happy to help out :)

TanteRose · 07/07/2013 06:00

Grin at mirai

They're all still asleep AND its Sunday... We won't get replies until after Wimbledon

desertgirl · 07/07/2013 06:43

Same time zone as Ranty, also happy to help.

Talkinpeace · 07/07/2013 17:21

On the big 5:2 thread we have about ten antipodeans who tend to chat to each other in the middle of our night - it might be worth setting them to the task
it'll stop them snacking as well Grin

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 07/07/2013 17:23

I'm in the UK but often a late night lurker and I'm a top spam spotter

I would LOVE a BIG RED BUTTON of my own. I would use it responsibly, I promise. Unless it's Chaos trolling, of course Grin

please please please

Have you done this now? Or is a MNHQer up very early this morning?!

I was just about to report some spam at about 6.30 this morning. I opened the thread, logged in and by the time I logged in it came up with a 'This thread has been deleted' message.

DameDeepRedBetty · 25/10/2013 10:55

I'm UK based but tend to be on here very late some nights and very early some mornings, would be happy to help. I haven't forgotten the Night of the Spam-Bots!
