Well, id agree JT, except that i dont think most MNers post advocating leaving a newborn to cry for up to an hour to get to sleep, or topping up a breastfed baby with formula. So she may be lurking....she certainly isnt heeding......allegedly etc....

Moomin, the swearing was a joke, sorry, I was being childish after the complaints about our swearing etc. I think your theory sounds v plausible and it does make me pity Ms Ford. A bit.

Evita was very very very apologetic though.

I think said drunken thread was the first ever to be pulled It caused outrage at the time- how DARE mnet delete an entire thread, snigger.

Having been present the evening of the GF thread I'd just like to say that GF herself was WAY more offensive to evita than evita's original comment was. It all kicked off when there was a huge anti-GF thread in which evita participated once to quote something from a Guardian article on GF. GF took the hump, posted a very threatening post aimed at evita, freaked evita out, she was in touch with MN, posted a massive apology to GF, changed her name and posted for a while with a different name and has now, I believe, disappeared from MN altogether.

GF's behaviour was atrocious. And some of the MNers who posted on GF's thread attacking evita were also out of order, calling her an, ahem, 'genital' equivalent of her name (anyone who read the original will know what I mean). It all got very nasty. I'm not surprised MN pulled the thread.
