I think any comments on here may put all the AH stuff in the shade.

Yes I double checked before I posted

LadyMountbatten · 08/04/2013 13:44

me to = you see Sparkers is there like a flipping flash

HelenMumsnet · 08/04/2013 13:44

Afternoon. And thanks for the suggestion.

We'll see how it goes, we think.

With any big news event, we tend to get quite a few threads as the story breaks - that's quite normal - and trying to corrall them into one thread would be almost impossible.

However, if, as with the Madeleine McCann ones, the threads continue to proliferate for days and days and days on end, we will look at trying to have one official thread - just for sanity's sake.

We have posted on some of the Thatcher threads already to remind people that, though we have no problem with folks expressing strong opinions about Thatcher's political legacy, we will delete posts that we consider to be beyond the pale. And, just for clarity, we would consider posts about 'dancing on her grave' to be beyond the pale.

Sparklingbrook · 08/04/2013 13:44

I must have it hidden already Knee. Blush

Kittens?

HazeltheMcWitch · 08/04/2013 13:48

Wow, you got quoted in the DM, Sparkling!
I bow down to your presence, for I am not worthy.
How comes I missed that thread, back in 2012? I seek out sleb-twaddle threads, like a moth to a flame. Sad

LadyMountbatten · 08/04/2013 13:48

oh it was just me trying to slander you and LURE you onto the thread

HelenMumsnet · 08/04/2013 13:48

Darn, it worked!

AnyFucker · 08/04/2013 13:49

thanks, helen

Sparklingbrook · 08/04/2013 13:50

I didn't even remember the thread from 2012 TBH. I feel really horrible about it all. Sad

OP posts:
HazeltheMcWitch · 08/04/2013 13:52

No, don't feel horrid!
You certainly don't seem horrid.

MrsHoarder · 08/04/2013 13:53

It'll all be over in about a week. Not worth setting up a separate topic for because you know no-one would use it anyway

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 08/04/2013 13:53

Do you consider "ding dong the witch is dead" to be acceptable then MNHQ?

I think I might hide in here too, if that's ok.

Thank goodness for the hide button!

Kneedeepindaisies · 08/04/2013 13:55

Don't feel horrid. 2012 is a stupidly long time ago for them to quote from and pretend that it's relevant today.

On another note, I've just hidden the MT threads. I thoroughly enjoyed it

LadyMountbatten · 08/04/2013 13:55

theres the whole funeral yet

Abra1d · 08/04/2013 13:56

{Heaves sigh of relief and pulls up chair}

Kneedeepindaisies · 08/04/2013 13:57

I didn't even think of that Lady. Sad

Nope. We deleted that one a while ago.

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 08/04/2013 14:58

There's one that slipped through the net, Helen. Have sent a report of the post.

I didn't realise that people were actually so horrid. I think I'll stay in my bubble today.

Fenton · 08/04/2013 15:02

I've hidden about four in the past 20mins, actually it was a toss-up between hiding or clicking to see who all the grave dancers were, for future reference and all.

I've opted for hiding.

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 08/04/2013 15:02

Just don't try to reason with them, Fenton

Hiding is the only option.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 08/04/2013 15:08

I've hidden 5 threads so far.

If it was all in one topic I could hide the entire thing and go about oblivious.
And, can you make people put "this is a Margaret thatcher thread" in the title please so I can just hide it without opening it?
Rather than having to open a thread and then go AAARRGGGHHH when I realise it's another grave dancing thread.

Ta.
