Spoofs, Jokes and Trolls

Right.

I want a serious debate about this.

I started a joke thread, in my own name as usual, about a neighbour stealing a spoon.

It was questioned as "trolling" and I got told off by Rebecca at MNHQ.

Are spoofs and/or jokes no longer allowed?

Since when?

And why?

What do people think about spoofs, jokes and trolls and the difference theereof?

I always said I would take my DCs to all that cultural stuff. You know, art galleries, museums, all those fun places.

We went to the National gallery when they were 5&6. We were asked to leave because ds1 wanted to duck under the ropes and touch everything.

I have suggested other things, dd said to me once, mum we live in london. Those places are for tourists.
I gave up at that point. They do not want to be educated. What can I do?

Hullygully · 28/03/2013 08:59

I have friends that take their children to Epidavros in Greece for three hour plays in GREEK and poetry recitals and ancient ballet-dance affairs. They often ask if we'd like to go too (when we are all out there) and I have to explain that the dc would rather eat their own eyeballs.

They think we are terribly unclassy, tho would never say so.

I love Liverpool, I only live an hour away so go there quite often.

Also very jealous that my dad lived there when he first left home in the early 60's Envy

My SIL decides where to go for the weekend by looking at how many old buildings she can see, and tell her DCs the history of each brick.
And then photograph them and come home and tell each member of our family about the history of every brick. And show us a slide show.

Can you imagine how much fun that is? Can you?

I tend to go for the place that has the most alcohol.
We rarely travel together.

GetOeuf · 28/03/2013 09:01

I did all that stuff with dd when she was younger. I remember syaing 'do you remember when we went to the National portrait Gallery and we spent ages looking at all the detail of the paintings of the fabrics' (she was about 7 and seemed to really love it).

She said 'oh no I can't remember that at all, I do remember seeing something on telly about it'

So. Don't bother taking them anywhere. Eat doughnuts and make them watch BBC4.

GetOeuf · 28/03/2013 09:05

Oh and I remember taking her to Lundy Island to look at the puffins. There is only so much you can do on Lundy island with a 6 year old. It is all right if you go with adults - you just get pissed on the boat on the way, even more pissed in the island pub and then sleep on the way home. She looked at me beseechingly and said 'can we go home now, but NOT on that boat'

No fucking puffins or seals either. Just seagulls, and we had enough of them at 'ome.

TheNebulousBoojum · 28/03/2013 09:12

You do realise that Hully is in a corner somewhere, sobbing bitterly about how her friends never listen to her desires, never meet her needs?

She wanted a serious debate about this, she said so in her OP.

And what are you lot waffling on about?
Puffins, kulchr and unappreciative children. And getting pissed.
Really, have you no heart? Sad

TantrumsAndBalloons · 28/03/2013 09:13

I think the serious debate went out the window when wankered wednesday started tbh.

TheNebulousBoojum · 28/03/2013 09:15

But it's Thursday now.
Thoughtful Thursday
Thinking About Serious Debate Thursday
Leading into Frivolous Friday.

The joyless fun suckers thread of pointless whining and bitching?

HotCrossWeaselInSinisterBonnet · 28/03/2013 09:18

Oops my post just fucked up thoughtful Thursday

Hullygully · 28/03/2013 09:18

Oh I'm used to it nebulous

I do like Thoughtful Thursday

Harking back to pre wankered weds briefly, who are the regs which Helen said had left?

I know there are fewer of us around, but early onset precludes detail

RandallPinkFloyd · 28/03/2013 09:31

Definitely the spurty fanjo one!

HotCrossWeaselInSinisterBonnet · 28/03/2013 09:32

Go into the search box and for today and yesterday type the word cum Randall

GetOeuf · 28/03/2013 09:33

God that thread was full of tiresome twats. Who was that fucker who was being snidey to usual? Where did she spring from?

RandallPinkFloyd · 28/03/2013 09:41

Blimey weasel. I don't know what to say.

OhChristHasRisenFENTON · 28/03/2013 09:41

Now that is the sort of thing I would feel like reporting, - the way that poster came in a 'addressed' usual was just plain nasty, like there was a real beef between them or something.

I want the fun back here to.

I do not want to read about the nature, frequency, volume or velocity of anyone's c (I cannot say it)

OhChristHasRisenFENTON · 28/03/2013 09:42

I want to be able to spell again too.

Too.

Hullygully · 28/03/2013 09:42

yes, a real old pop at usual that was quite inexplicable

OP posts:
GetOeuf · 28/03/2013 09:44

It's not nice, I would hate that to have happened to me. To be sniped at repeatedly - really bloody horrible.

Hullygully · 28/03/2013 09:46

I've had it, it's astonishingly dull and irritating

OP posts:
GetOeuf · 28/03/2013 09:49

That would give me the creeps. Miserable minded fuckers.
