I can confirm that the same is true of 6 foot garden canes that were previously thought to be cunningly hidden behind the greenhouse (sigh)

I caught DS1 using one of them as a pole vault pole earlier today! Both DS1 and 2 having been told (yet again) not to chase each other round the garden with them.

No tears though!

I was tryig to think of tips in order to enter the competition. I col;d see DSs runnign round the garden with the damn poles and thought "That'll end in tears". Obviously, I posted it as a tip rather than run out to stop them...

Had a laugh anout this today when dd an ds were playing with a 10 foot metal pipe. Not a 6foot bamboo pole, I thought, so will be okay

ds2 did have a rather nasty incident with a bamboo stick once when he was 2. He was still at the stage of putting everything in his mouth. He tipped forward, the other end got stuck in the grass and he stuck it down his throat. Cue frantic 999 call with blood spurting out of his mouth - luckily it turned out he had badly scraped the roof of his mouth and no serious damage done! He enjoyed the ride in the ambulance though!
