I logged on about an hour ago and the active threads were peppered with spam.

Now I've just gone onto threads active in the last hour and the whole page as far as I can scroll down is spam, and I'm still at topics starting with the letter A!

Sord it aaaaaht MNHQ. We need a nightwatchman.

I'll join in this thread too. With about my 10th plea tonight to PLEASE PLEASE SORT IT OUT

there are too many to report and hide now

Chorusforpoormortals · 03/03/2013 03:05

Can I come and sob quietly too? I haven't stayed up and mnetted for ages, and this happens.

lubeybooby · 03/03/2013 03:09

and someone who has had a horrible experience and needs support has been bumped off the page. This is just disgusting now.

Eskino · 03/03/2013 03:10

Jeesus. Just spent aaages hiding all the bloody spammy threads, then I updated active convos and the list is full of them again!

Might have to go over to nethuns for my nocturnal BFing entertainment

HairyHandedTrucker · 03/03/2013 03:11

do they really think is gonna work

Chorusforpoormortals · 03/03/2013 03:13

What is their aim? I am stupid and can't work out how or why they have done this.

Chorusforpoormortals · 03/03/2013 03:16

Blimey, it is almost the whole of active convos, if you click on the thread does it take you somewhere else?

FellNel · 03/03/2013 03:35

that's what I thought lubey I saw it, meant to look, and the next time I refereshed the page it was gone! I've been through as many topics as I can to find her but the spam is just too thick to fight through. Sad

OP posts:
FellNel · 03/03/2013 03:36

Actually an AS would do it. Didn't think of that. Blush

Have to go out now though (3 hours ahead of the UK)

OP posts:
FellNel · 03/03/2013 03:36

I knowChorus we are hardly their target demographic are we? Confused

OP posts:
FellNel · 03/03/2013 03:38

Well lubey if it was the 'I was raped today' thread, don't bother. It's just someone trolling the FWR board.

Okay, every time someone posts another thread in site stuff about this? It takes HQs attention from the problem.

Report the SPAM, hide the thread, go on with your life.

SelfconfessedSpoonyFucker · 03/03/2013 05:54

nightwatchmum did you mean FellNel?

Maybe new members can be limited in how many messages they can post, or prevented from posting messages containing links... Something needs to done, the spammers seem to be posting fast today, wonder if they have automated it somehow.

nannynick · 03/03/2013 07:15

This is a situation where Hide All Messages Started By Poster would be good.

Yes Nanny - good idea, but unfortunately there seems to be about 10000 of them. They are even replying spam to each other's threads.

Weird and bloody annoying

Tee2072 · 03/03/2013 07:38

Okay, everyone, these are robots, not real people. And obviously coming from all over the place or HQ could just block their IPs or user names.

Maryz I just reported one and put a note that I wasn't reporting any others as it was getting tedious so they just need to look at active! What they need to do is close down registration until they can find where they are coming from, but I don't know if they are willing to do that.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/03/2013 07:43

I presume HQ will eventually manage to stop them registering and then delete em all but it could take time.

amillionyears · 03/03/2013 07:47

There was a techie who replied the previous night.
I dont know if he is on duty every night or not?
He might have been too busy trying to fix the problem, to talk about the problem iyswim.

Tee2072 · 03/03/2013 07:48

Well, Tech lives in America, so he was probably working on it overnight.

And if people would stop posting about it and asking for updates, there would be more time to actually work on the problem...

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/03/2013 08:02

Agreed..am 100% sure they will be working on this as hard as they can so people asking where they are isnt helping.

Cheddars · 03/03/2013 09:49

But surely posting stuff is what we do! Asking a mneter to stop posting is akin to asking the sun to stop shining. Smile
