It's easier to get an effective response to something that's asked in a positive fashion.

Take behaviour management. You're more likely to get an effective outcome from "please be quiey" than from "stop shouting" or do say the books.

So let's remame it AIBR?

And everyone will be positive and nice.

[deluded]

Here endeth the wisdom of ChasTheDiplomat.

Oh, yeah, I know it doesn't toll off the tongue quite so pleasantly, but them's the breaks for a harmonious MN. Ok?

I like that new topic list Maryz. It makes sense to me. And in Support Needed it must be illegal to say 'come and hold my hand please' in the thread title.

I am going to shout at the next person shout at the next person who says that, regardless of the severity of their problem.

Why Is Everyone A Twat But Me?

WIEATBM?

That would be more realistic - or what about:

Isn't that Chas's typo? Wink

I was pondering on a potential new topic the other day - 'can any mother help me' - I was thinking for the younguns treating this place like an agony aunt. All very well and good if you're in the mood, but I don't always want to remember to be wise and mature...

Oh I get it now, Rowan.

In my defence, A Small Boy? is just recovering from a 104 F fever and I've had very little sleep.

::bats eyes::

Forgive me?

WIEATBM?

now that, that is what I call genius.

It serves as a topic, a thread title and a complete, self-contained answer suitable for almost every occasion.

Let's have it.

FloatyBeatie · 26/02/2013 12:42

We could just write WIEATBM on a post-it note and stick it on our screen and look at it instead of the internet.

Very pro that idea Floaty.

I think we should get rid of AIBU altogether.

People abuse and misuse it Grin trying to turn everything into an AIBU question when actually, they just want to chat.

We should go back to chatting in chat. Reclaim the topics that are all tumbleweedy as people ask AIBU to not let my child watch tv (parenting) AIBU to have kippers for tea (food) AIBU to use my child's toy lightsaber to scratch my itchy piles (general health)

MNHQ can give us a new topic. Fight Club. In that section, no deletions. No restrictions. We can lob all the arseholes in there and let them beat each other to death. Grin

I like that LineRunner. PATRIAFOBIA - the fear of being sure you are right but knowing someone will call you a c**t anyway.

Could we add a 'Welcome' topic called Hotel California? I think it's time MNHQ let people know what they are getting themselves into. Grin

P.S. - Any chance of lobbing the Gransnet Cake emoticon over our way too?
