We decided to keep all admin type stuff on the main site, as having name changing, talk preferences and all that gubbins on app would be a rather mammoth task. We wanted to keep the app as simple and as functional as possible (although we accept "functional" is not quite happening yet).
We may consider adding name changing in the future though!
