You may remember we recently joined up with What Car? to bring you Mumsnet Cars, a great place to go for Mumsnetter reviews and expert advice (if we do say so ourselves).

We're sure you've all had a good nosey round the new site, but if you haven't, why not head over now to read the reviews that have been written about your car. Is there anything that has been missed so far that you think others should know? Is there anything in the current review you don't agree with? Or a feature you want to shout about? If so, please add your own review to give other Mumsnetters valuable information about your experiences.

If there isn't a review on your car already why not add one to help other Mumsnetters who are looking for a family car? Here's the link: www.mumsnet.com/cars/reviews

Also, do come back to this thread and let us know you've added your review.

Also do tell us about your ideal family car. If you could have any feature possible, what would it be? What's the one thing family cars are missing? What is the deciding factor when you buy a car?

As a token of our eternal and grateful thanks we persuaded the lovely team behind Nativity 2 - Danger in the Manger (released November 23 - staring David Tennant and Joanna Page - check out the trailer here: to donate a really cool prize. Everyone who adds a comment to this thread (including those who say they have added a review) has a chance to win a half day rafting trip for 6 people (worth £320) in Snowdonia - see here for more info.
If you don't live near here or aren't planning on visiting Wales any time soon, the winner will be able to transfer the prize to a friend or relation. Please note the minimum age for the trip is 12 years old and the trip must be taken before 12/11/2013. Please click here for full Ts&Cs.

Don't forget to add your car review Smile

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Every time I click onto Mumsnet Cars my Internet Explorer locks up ("Not Responding"). I have tried several times over the last week with no success.

The irony is, we are in the middle of buying a car and would love to read some reviews.

Any ideas, oh techy peeps?

EcoLady · 25/11/2012 20:27

I stand by every word of the review I wrote of my cee'd and agree with the What Car version too. Vast boot and superb, economical, comfortable family car. We drove it from Cambridge to Cornwall this summer - it was a very easy drive and far more comfortable than in the Focus Estate that we have previously used.

I think that family cars should come with removable washable seat covers... Smile

oreocrumbs · 25/11/2012 21:20

Have reviwed my beast. I'll save you the time in looking it up, just don't bother with an insignia! Grin

I can't seem to add a review of my car as it isn't listed. Which seems odd as it is a typical Mummywagon. And I do see lots of them around, although it is a Honda F-RV and I live near Swindon so maybe there's a particular concentration here. Still, it needs adding as it has lots of positives for families. For starters there are 6 full seats without giving up boot space so you can still carry luggage for 6.

48Hours · 26/11/2012 01:01

have just written a review on our car :)

prettybird · 26/11/2012 16:17

Blondieminx- I had a company Avensis before my Mazda6 and was going to buy the new one (as it was back then) almost without a test drive, if it hadn't been for the really shitty and arrogant service from my local Toyota dealer Angry

As a result, I started looking around, read a review about the Mazda6 (and I'd previously had a Mazda 323 which I'd been very happy with) and thought it sounded worth having a look at. The service at the dealer we went to couldn't have been more of a contrast - but more importantly, once I test drove it and checked out the interior, I decided that it not only looked better (which OK, is a subjective opinion) and drove really nippily for a larger car, it had far better interior storage both for the front and rear passengers - something that for me was really important with a young family.

Now, the interior storage for the Avensis might have improved since then - it was a wee while ago now!

I LOVE my car (so very happy to post review), and I'd love a cold wet rafting weekend in Snowdonia, so bring it on .... Grin

purplemonstermum · 30/11/2012 16:13

Done.

blondieminx · 30/11/2012 17:55

Thanks prettybird Smile

Mazda plus tall DH appears to be incompatible Grin

Looking at the Qashqai now...

BabyJesusInTheCabbageVan · 01/12/2012 07:58

My car is isn't in the review list, how do I add one?

Elfontheshelfiswatchingyou · 02/12/2012 21:43

Done. I love my little Fiat but DH wants a Qashqai as the mian family car so I'm off to check out the reviews (we are not replacing my car though, oh no).

prettybird · 02/12/2012 21:50

Blondieminx: fair enough. Both dh and I are small, so it's not something we've had to think about.

chrisrobin · 04/12/2012 10:40

Done.

ReindeerHooves · 07/12/2012 14:01

I've added our cars. One of them twice as I didn't realise straight away that there's a separate family car and estate car section Blush so I added our Toyota Avensis estate to the family car bit and then c&p'd to the estate car bit. MNHQ feel free to delete the rogue one :)

Also agree with blondieminx about the recalls, our Toyota is dh's car and I had forgotten about the two? three? times he's had it back at the garage due to recalls in the three years we've had the car. Could that be added to the review at all?

yes I know I've made a complete hash of this

mistlethrush · 07/12/2012 14:12

Blondie - DH is 6' and doesn't fit in quite a number of cars - you just can't get the driving position far enough back for him. However, if you liked the Focus, we chose a skoda octavia rather than the focus because it was bigger for the same sort of money. DH can drive and I can sit behind him - OK he's not in quite the ideal driving position, but only one click off it, and I don't have much room - but then I'm 5'8 too so being able to sit in the back behind someone is pretty good. We've been in it with my parents with DS in the middle for quite long distances, absolutely fine. It has a HUGE boot.

I have already reviewed it, I suppose I'd better check its still OK as I did it sometime ago Grin

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 07/12/2012 14:35

I've reviewed the VW Polo and the Audi A6 Avant. I enjoyed that! Blush

NotMostPeople · 07/12/2012 14:35

Done. Good timing as I didn't know about Mumsnet cars and we're planning to get a new one.

ReindeerHooves · 07/12/2012 14:41

I won't need such a big car next time round, the pushchair and enormocarseats are no more.

The review of the Fiat 500 said everything I hoped it would :)

AndWhenYouGetThere · 07/12/2012 15:06

Seriously not 1 little Rover? It's not THAT old Xmas Blush

Well, I like it. So there.

overmydeadbody · 07/12/2012 15:34

MNHQ

How can I write a revies of my car when you don't have it in the drop down options?

It's aMazda RX8. Maybe I'm being stupid and missing it? You have MX5s there, so it's not like you've only got 'family' cars?

We love our RX8. It's a family car for us as DS can sit in the back with plenty of room and we love it.

Bonkerz · 07/12/2012 19:12

I have a fiat multipla. It's a 6 seater and we love it! Family of 2 adults and 4 children age 1-12 and we can fit everything we need (inc travel cot and pushchair) for a weeks holiday in the boot an all the kids have full size seat and loads of leg room. I'm also a childminder and have 3 0-4yrs car seats all on back row and two double and a single buggy in the boot!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why isn't this reviewed!

ClaireStronge · 08/12/2012 17:14

Ive added a review about the Ford Smax which is fantastic apart from our current issue with finding out it doesnt have a spare wheel!

AnnMumsnet · 09/12/2012 14:22

Hello - keep the brilliant reviews (and not-so-brilliant) coming
