Hiya
We'll see what we can do.

RebeccaMumsnet · 19/11/2012 12:04

Hi y'all,

We will try and pull something together today - get your hankies at the ready.

RebeccaMumsnet · 19/11/2012 13:06

Okay, here goes - some of the posts have been edited slightly and names taken out. The below is just a tiny selection from all of the nominations we received.

"She is a such beautiful person and speaks with such wisdom and gentleness, despite what she endures. My heart skips a tinybeat each time I see her name on here as I am in awe of her amazing soul."

"She is having chemo at the moment. Yet she continues to give support and remains serene and good humoured throughout. She really is an exceptional person and thoroughly deserves a treat this Christmas."

"She's funny, clever, caring and has excellent advice. She's unique. I think she's probably pretty well-off and doesn't need a present, but she puts so much time and thought into her posts that she deserves something. Oh, and she likes me :)"

"I just think it might cheer her up to know she's being thought of at Christmas."

"She's a single mum doing her best and having a bit of a rough time financially. She gives out loads of love, good advice and encouragement and I just think it would be nice to give a bit of it back to her."

"She's also a great friend, and has been a constant source of joy & support for me even in her toughest days."

"Even though she doesn't know me from Adam every thread I have started about how rubbish I feel or threads I have browsed to cheer myself up, she always makes me laugh. brightens my day a bit."

"She has adopted children all with SN and she is truly an inspiration."

"I would like her to get something for herself rather than for her family as she always goes without for the sake of her family."

"An incredible, non-stop source of non-judgemental advice, support and help for everyone on the special needs board. A force of nature and a relentless fighter, she is the heart and soul of the board."

"Wouldn't have 2 BF DDs if her advice wasn't around."

"She took the time to message me after my miscarriage to check that I was ok and that I had somebody with me."

"Her mum is v ill with cancer, and she hasn't whined. Is so lovely, and funny and deserves recognition for being ace."

We did originally say that we would have all of the mails out by the 23rd (tomorrow) However, it is going to be more like the 27th now.

Apologies for the delay - we are ruffling our papers and SandyMumsnet is busy making the spreadsheet make sense

Still plenty of time for the Christmas post!

@MrsTerryPratchett

Does everyone who gets nominated get a pressie. I just want to know if the flipping lovely person I nominated will definitely get something.

Hi MrsTerry,
Absolutely most definitely.

@SolomanDaisy

Reading those nominationcomments made we wonder if it might be possible to see the nomination of the person we're sending gifts to. If I've got the person who never buys anything for herself I want to buy for her not her children, iyswim.

Hi Soloman,
That's lovely idea, might hinder the anonymity of the MNer, but one to think about for next year...
Not logistically doable for this year though IYKWIM.

HelenMumsnet · 29/11/2012 16:45

@OhComeAllYeZombies

Are you deleting the right thread, Helen?

Darn. I knew someone would notice. Blush

Doigts de saucisses, as they'd say on Mamanset...

SandyMumsnet · 29/11/2012 16:46

@GrannyRat

Right, late to the party (as usual) and have been directed to this thread from the uncharitable one in AIBU. Anyway, can I still nominate someone or is it too late? Also, will the poster whom I intend to nominate find out who I am? I wouldn't want them to but would like them to know the reason. Thanks.

Hi GrannyRat,

The matches for this year have all been done and sent out

You are warmly welcome to look out for the MN Christmas Appeal next year, pop it in your diary now for November, and you could be the first to nominate!

And no, no one need ever know it was you........
