Just so that new people don't feel left out or confused, of course? It would be sweet and helpful.

Just saw this. No, we're not adding to acronym list atm but will bring up at next monthly meeting. As for POADYFB -- have no clue what that would be, so really can't. :)

SleepyJess · 01/04/2006 21:53

Oh! Shock Eeek! Was just kidding Justine! No you really can't and musn't add that!!! Grin

JanH · 01/04/2006 22:01

Is JJ, not Justine, and she is kidding (I think!)

SleepyJess · 01/04/2006 22:33

Ooops yes sorry JJ. Yes I gathered she was joking.. Grin.. it was just the thought of Mumsnet Towers giving any thought to my 'suggested acronym' that made me stutter a little!! Grin

am always pmsl at dh when he's telling a tale - can't understand a word he says Grin

expatinscotland · 01/04/2006 23:13

i used to hang out w/a lot of police when i worked as secretary in a hospital. the tales! i loved how they called whoever they were dragging in an 'individual' or a 'subject'.

even funnier is when they've got someone all ghetto and they're telling them, 'ma'm, ma'm, if you don't calm down we're going to have to hog tie you.'

truth is stranger than fiction!

JoolsToo · 01/04/2006 23:14

that would be in the States? Grin

expatinscotland · 01/04/2006 23:16

i temped in an apartment complex once. now most flats in the US - they call 'em 'apartments' - are big campus-type things w/many low rise buildings owned by a corporation.

well this one had assigned parking bays you could rent, for a fee, of course. some covered, some not, some garages.

this 'individual' wanted a covered. so she got on the wait list. well, she was pretty far down and her neighbour got on right in front of their building. b/c he'd been first.

so she came in to complain and the manager showed her the list and was like, 'sorry, ma'm.'

she threw herself spread-eagle over the bay and refused to get up.

so the manager had to call the police . . .

:o

god, what a funny scene! they picked her up, but she stayed all stiff . . . they had to call an ambulance to tranq her b/c then she just went ghetto and attacked them. they were trying not to laugh . . .

JoolsToo · 01/04/2006 23:20

am pmsl!!! Grin

reminds of when I took dd (yes her) and ds1 to Ikea and its a bugger to park. So we were waiting for this car to move out its spot and I was indicating to turn in but another car came from a different direction and attempted to nick my spot - so dd quick as you like lunged out of the car and stood in the bay in a star shape arguing with the passenger who had got out from the other car - and dd was screaming 'we were here first and I'm a police officer so move along!' this other person muttered under her breath but ............ moved along Grin ds1 had nothing but re-spect for dd Grin

MadameDeMars · 02/04/2006 00:33

I'm a big fan of FUBAR as well! Should definitely be on the acronym list Grin
