Please could we have an edit button for our posts in talk. It would be so much better to be able to edit out spelling mistakes and punctuation errors.

KatMumsnet · 28/10/2012 13:28

Hi there. We see how an edit button would be handy for spelling mistakes and general errors, though we think it might cause too much confusion on the thread if someone were to edit their whole post!

OliviaMumsnet · 28/10/2012 19:23

Erm. There's a preview button for just this kinda thing.

@LizLemon030

i had a problem where i was outed once and i asked mn to delete all my posts and they didn't. i was emailing the staff and they were very pleasant, one even rang me but they did not offer to delete all my posts. i asked. they said it would cause confusion. however, other mumsnetters have managed to persuade mn to do this, so I felt quite cross. There is an obvious hierarchy.

Hello - this doesn't sound like us - do feel free to email us ([email protected]) with more details and we will try to find out what happened for you.

HelenMumsnet · 29/10/2012 11:53

LizLemon030: we're still most happy to look into your problem with deleting posts if you'd care to mail in, as we suggested. Tis most odd that you say Olivia phoned you. We very very rarely do that (and don't have a record of people's phone numbers).

On another note, we'd like to remind people that, although frequent nickname-changing is completely fine, we would be concerned by people nickname-changing on the same thread in a way that could be misleading.

@TheDoctrineOfSnatch

I agree with Trills.

Yes. She is quite right.

Reckon there could be 5/6 new posts within that 15-second timeframe for an edit.

It would undoubtedly make for some confusion.
