I know. Blush

There was prob a good reason at the time but I can't for the life of me remember it!

EduCated · 17/09/2012 22:23

History Club has one post. One.

By Tech. Shock

VivaLeBeaver · 17/09/2012 22:29

I honestly think there's a secret MN as I can't find half these topics.

VivaLeBeaver · 17/09/2012 22:32

I've found history club now. Tech posted in it today. Is it a new topic?

HelenMumsnet · 17/09/2012 22:36

Yes but that's because it's new today!

mumnosGOLDisbest · 17/09/2012 22:37

Maybe some of the quieter MN locals could be combined, eg doncaster and barnsley. I nearly answered my own thread from 2008 the other day!

mumnosGOLDisbest · 17/09/2012 22:39

Don't delete it though. Maybe one day MN will reach the folk of Doncaster and I'll have somebody to talk to.

EduCated · 17/09/2012 22:43

Glad to see it got off to such a rip-roaring start! I dd t realise there was such a huge demand for a History Club, on top of the the Family History topic Wink

More to come with Local soon. Should be good...

@Maryz

wtf did LBE say?

pm's welcome Grin

I'm concerned as well about the topics with a lot of unanswered (or almost unanswered threads) in them.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health is an example - you could hang around there a lot desperately looking for a reply, whereas posting in mh or teenagers would find a few people.

She said: "Well I'm sure we'd all like to help, Helen.
But what do we get in return?
Eh Eh?
I mean, can we say Mitmoo without getting deleted?"

So I deleted her Grin

But agree re topics. We are looking at it.

Tis tricky, though: when loads of folks ask for new ones, we do like to oblige...

Blush I'll toddle on.

Buuuut, it is empty and perhaps if you were looking to slimline the topics list it could be combined with Family History?

Genuine question, does it happen often that topics are demanded requested, enjoy a couple of busy weeks then tail off? There seem a couple that might have been a bit like that. How do you decide when to lose a topic? And what happens to the threads in it?

Yes, it does happen quite often. But then some topics take off from the moment they're created, so it's hard to tell which way it's going to go from the off.

As for losing topics, we hardly ever do. Hence the giant mess slightly disorganised nature of the Topics list.

Yes, maybe we should have a "use or it or lose it" two-month deadline thingie with new topics or summat?

HotPinkWeasel · 17/09/2012 23:02

You need to rethhink the selling topics. Either get rid and stop selling or make them worth the fee. The £10 used to be worth it when we had cat.

EduCated · 17/09/2012 23:15

Perhaps say that after a set amount of time (3 to 6 months), topics go onto 'probation' and have a warning note put on them to say that if usage doesn't pick up within say 2 months then it will be removed. Hopefully that would either encourage people to use it and post in it or confirm that it's not really needed.

Grin i feel special! Got my first personal reply from MNHQ. Thanks Helen

FancyPuffin · 18/09/2012 08:29

Can we rename the unused topics?

I wish to call mine PuffinLand?

Please
