Would it be possible for MN to stop, for a 2 minute "silence"

At a specific time, every year, to remember all the babies and children of MNetters who have sadly died?

Or maybe do something else?

What does anyone else think?

The candle idea is a lovely one and would include everybody who has suffered a loss.

FaceForRadio · 08/07/2012 14:43

Lovely idea.

I like the candle idea.

Jacksmania · 08/07/2012 15:17

I love the idea of a candle.
What did happen to the other thread? I posted on it, went to sleep (different time zone) and I woke up and it's gone poof.
Could someone PM me please?

Jacksmania · 08/07/2012 23:05

Oh no, did I break the thread??? :(

HelenMumsnet · 09/07/2012 11:19

@StarBallBunny

Yes a day when we could remember the babies and children we have never met, but who stories and parents bravery have touched our hearts.

Hello. Yes, we, too, think having a special day for this is a great idea - perhaps in partnership with one/several bereavement-support charities. We will put our thinking caps on and try to come up with something.

can I just point out the thread title has changed - I didn't support a silence, wasn't the original title just "something in remembrance"?

No it hasn't changed, Stealth (but there were lots of threads yesterday on similar theme, so it was confusing).

That said, it seems to be general consensus that day of remembrance is better (and more workable) than a silence, so that's what we're working on.

StealthPolarBear · 09/07/2012 12:34

Oh. I would say "are you sure" but I guess you are :) I'm sure I noticed at some point yesterday that the title had changed from "something in rememberence" specifically to the 2 min silence, and assumed the OP had requested it. But you're right, I must have intended to post on another thread.

def think a day of remembrance is a good idea, better than a 2mins silence which people could easily miss.

love the idea of a candle symbol as well :)
