When can I use the 'search archived messages' function again ?

Tried to do an archive search and this message came up....

"Monday 27 February 2006 9:50am: We have switched off archive searching while we repair the message index. It should be back later today"

Today is Weds, what happened ?

Hi, it should be back on now. Must have forgotten to turn it back on. Brain increasingly sieve-like. Sorry about that.

Hi there,
This was happening because the message index has got so huge that it was taking hours to index. We've changed it so the rebuild builds a second copy then swaps the old one out and the new one in (should have done that in the first place, but I'm dim). This means it should be availabile all the time. BUT, in the tradition of tech changes everywhere, I've accidentally screwed up the message abstracts - the bit you get on the results. They now all say "$msg.MsgAbstract" which is not helpful. It should be back to normal tomorrow, honest, and not disappear every morning any more..... yours in shame, tech.
