Tech it's happening in a random fashion though Confused if I'm on the mobile site and say press active convos it flips to normal mnet. If I press switch to mobile site button it either does, or doesn't.

It's working again now though.

jaggythistle · 23/06/2012 10:32

Not that I'm desperate, but any update?

my crappy wee phone hasn't enough memory to cope with the big site!

jaggythistle · 23/06/2012 19:24

No matter what I try i can't get back to the mobile site. still can't see a big button or a link.

I'm getting anxious about another night without Mumsnet to play with! i can't read my kindle in the dark. :)

thanks in advance for any assistance! Grin

WandaDoff · 23/06/2012 19:26

The mobile button on mine was a big massive blue button at the bottom, the same length as the page. I didn't see it at 1st as I thought it was a border.

jaggythistle · 23/06/2012 19:41

thanks wanda, i seem to still be button free though having scrolled all around the bottom of the page. :)

Tech · 23/06/2012 19:53

Hi, We'll add a switch-to-mobile link to the bottom of the page for everyone tonight. So tomorrow if you scroll right down to the bottom of the page, you should see a "Mobile version" link which will switch you to the mobile layout.

RandomNumbers · 23/06/2012 19:58

Cool, thanks Tech

jaggythistle · 23/06/2012 20:34

thanks :)

MrsTrellisOfSouthWales · 23/06/2012 20:44

My browser bar says www not m - but threads looks like the mobile site, as does active convos. But Threads I'm On looks all silly and web based.

Tech · 23/06/2012 22:31

Hi, Yes, there's no such thing as m.mumsnet.com any more. www just shows mobile version if you are on a phone, unless you choose otherwise.

That's weird about Threads I'm on. TBH I think it might always have looked like that?

Tech · 24/06/2012 01:11

Hi, you should be able to get the mobile site now, on any device. Scroll right to the bottom of the page and you'll see a "mobile site" link. Click that and you should get a question window about whether you want to use it temporarily or always. Click always if you want your device to default to the mobile version every time you visit. Note that you are only choosing for the device you are on now. You can have your phone use mobile and your laptop use the regular version of course.

jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 01:48

yay! thanks. my phone seems to have defaulted to the mobile site so far when i used my normal bookmark.

off to catch up on all the tiny writing i couldn't see now...

thanks lots! Grin

RandomNumbers · 24/06/2012 09:17

Thank you v much

anniewoo · 24/06/2012 09:23

My mumsnet app is always failing

MrsTrellisOfSouthWales · 24/06/2012 09:54

Threads I'm on used to look more like the mobile site. Now it's titchy tiny all in one row writing.

jaggythistle · 25/06/2012 05:02

Me again.

my phone is now only going to the full site again. :(

I've scrolled to the bottom of the page about 742 times during the night and i can see the text 'Mobile Site', however it doesn't appear to be a link for me and does bugger all no matter how hard i try to click it.

any ideas why my phone isn't being detected as a phone?

cheers again.

MrsTrellisOfSouthWales · 25/06/2012 12:17

And now it's back to normal....

jaggythistle · 25/06/2012 14:45

nope. still scrolling around frantically with a mobile site link that doesn't work. :( :( :( :(

any reason why my mobile is not being recognised after it worked fine yesterday?

thanks.

Tech · 25/06/2012 19:03

Hi Jaggythistle, it sounds like your phone is struggling to run the script.

Try this link:

.

www.mumsnet.com/version-choice?page=%2FTalk&v=mobile&p=p

.

and let me know if it works? Thanks.

jaggythistle · 25/06/2012 19:10

thanks, on PC but will try it and let you know :)

jaggythistle · 25/06/2012 19:40

link worked!

looks good so far, thanks again. Grin

bellastella · 25/07/2012 06:57

Just marking my place really. the second link is the only one i've found that actually takes me back to the mobile site on my phone :-)
