How do you use mumsnet?

I have a particular routine I follow (I'm sure that means I am anal, but we'll leave that aside for now ):

Open up mumsnet active convos
Search "threads I'm on"
Search current messages for my name (I like to pretend it's because someone might need me but really it's to see how popular I am )
Open up the home page and look at the Tip of the Day (in the vain hope that I might see my tip up there one day - sigh)
*Open all the threads I want to read then settle back with a cuppa

Oh, and I always use the click-throughs to enter other sites eg ebay, amazon etc, like good girl.

Anyone else have a "routine" that they always follow? Or is this about to become an embarrassing revelation?

always look at active convos first

then check threads I'm on

go to "threads I'm on" and see if anyone has posted

go to "last hour" and see if anything interesting is happening - I prefer "last hour" to "active conversations", as it shows more posters' names so I can see who is about

Refresh a lot.

Never search my name.

hadn't ever thought about searching my name, maybe I will now... but can someone mention me somewhere so I can find me.....

name searches??? ha ha

I couldnt do them anyway, Id get every thread with a double n in it, or else a load of people wishing each other farewell at bedtime.

(heres a gratuitous comment about cod, miaou, snafu for their name searches)

I go to active convos, threads I'm on and threads I'm watching. Rarely namesearch. Do occasionally and discover people taking my name in vain about weaning spoons or somesuch nonsense

... use Mumsnet that is, I'm in denial.

I have Active Convos as a desktop icon, so I go straight there and then have a look at threads I'm on. I very rarely look at individual catagories unless I'm looking for a specific thread. I've never searched for my name!

usually click on active convos
then threads im on, or in my case threads ive killed!
never name search, although after seeing this, just did out of curiousity and found a thread asking if there were any mods on mn! and my name was in a list of mods.

• Go straight to Active Conversations and scan
• Threads I am on
• Last Day

Then once every few days go to Home Page to check competitions, etc.

mumsnet in my favorite, i check main page 1st and then normally go chat, in the news, other subject, etc
i read lots most of the tims. i sell stuff too.
i like style, slimmers, food.
i paid my sub, so im officially mumsnetter, am i?
i dont like attention so im very quite
wish i had more time to sit down with cuppa tea and surf around all subjects and troll around wind people up [not me really]
i like birth and antenatal subject, i think its great to learn other peoples experience [thinking about second already]
its great place, i really glad i found it [ i just need to meet real mumsnetter in RL now

Please can we have the archive search back? Is it mended yet? I want to look at old stuff
