Combining Nursery & Childminders, nannies, au pairs etc into Early Years/Early Years Education/ Early Years and Childcare

Hi since 2008 these different forms of childcare have become more & more close in what they offer children and parents

Is it a possibility to combine them and rename - I've put in a few suggestions but you might think of something better

But it really should be in education

What do you think?

I'm no sure. People post about the practicalities of finding/getting rid of a nanny for example - that's not the same as dealing with a nursery. Also my nanny doesn't offer early years education in the same way as my son's preschool does...?

Well maybe leave Nannies & Aupairs alone, but childminders and Nursery should be in education

You mean as a topic on MN? Or, like, in the real world?

My soon to be childminder is very different from the daycare/nursery my son has been attending. And his preschool will be even more different.

They really aren't the same thing.

how about us who work with children 4-12? Grin

Legislatively they are providing the same educational opportunities

So maybe Early Years & Childcare might be the way t o go as it includes the 5-16 yos too
