...why am I being randomly logged out several times a day? Been happening for the past few days and whilst it's no biggie, it's a bore Grin

Pure badness I'd say.

Wink
NormaStanleyFletcher · 10/06/2012 15:30

They are doing it specifically to annoy you.

Are you clicking the keep me logged in thingy (technical term)

NSF you need to change your name to NSF (tech)

NormaStanleyFletcher · 10/06/2012 16:54

Cheers custy. Will consider that.

FrankWippery · 10/06/2012 16:55

Probs Chaos.

Norm - I am indeed clicking the keep me logged in thingy and it still keeps on bloody doing it.

Lemarch - yes, I think that is exactly it and it is starting to work. How on earth am I supposed to spend my day MNing if the sodding thing keeps logging me out.

Angry Confused Hmm

Is it to do with accepting cookies? Or a firewall update? I had this on my old netbook thingy - used to drive me insane and was stupid, over efficient firewall.

FrankWippery · 10/06/2012 17:44

Dunno Belle. I haven't done anything different, but I'm not a techie sort of person either. It's rather bloody annoying though.

RebeccaMumsnet · 10/06/2012 18:39

Well our standard response to this has been stolen, thanks Norma Wink

Have you changed any of your settings lately?

Generally , as long as you have clicked on the remember me box you should stay logged in. You could try restarting your computer to see if that help?

Let us know if it keeps happening and we will ask Tech.

FrankWippery · 10/06/2012 19:09

Thanks Rebecca.

Nope, haven't changed any of my settings, have restarted the laptop a gazillion times and it's still happening.

And I have always made sure the remember me box is ticked. I've effectively been logged in for months, quite literally, so why this is happening now is defeating me and may have me reaching for extra gin. A good thing, but a bad thing.

The one thing I have found is that if you use multiple devices (in my case laptop, mobile, iPad, computer, brain chip) it can All Go Wrong

FrankWippery · 10/06/2012 19:17

Only use laptop, so can't use that as an excuse either. I may perhaps have lost my brain chip Wink

OP posts:
NormaStanleyFletcher · 10/06/2012 19:18

(i made up the brain chip, but it is only a matter of time)

Alameda · 10/06/2012 19:18

oh me too

on every device, it is so annoying

strawberrypenguin · 10/06/2012 19:20

Happens to me all the time on iPad too. Have given in and use app most of the time now so it doesn't happen, but app doesn't let you highlight OPs posts Sad

Alameda · 10/06/2012 19:24

and the app doesn't have a 'refresh' thing, have to leg it to the top of the page on the iphone and refresh and it is all a bit primitive

I don't use the app on the ipad though, is it exactly the same?

FrankWippery · 10/06/2012 19:28

I'm sort of glad it's not just me then Grin

OP posts:
TheCunningStunt · 10/06/2012 19:28

It keeps logging me out on my iPhone! Very annoying And no "remember me" box to check? Hmmmmm it's only been since I got my iPhone 4

Alameda · 10/06/2012 19:36

yes has only been since I got my iphone4s Hmm what does it all MEAN

Pinot · 11/06/2012 08:20

Run a virus scan - you may have a wibbly that is deleting your cookies.

n.b. wibbly is a vair techy term, mmm'kay?

FrankWippery · 11/06/2012 08:27

Pinot the tech genius Grin

I've done everyfing and it is still doing it. I am possibly going to have to actually entertain my youngest. I may be some time..

OP posts:
Pinot · 11/06/2012 09:10

Ahhh, so no wibbly

Dunno then :o That wibbly was both the beginning and end of my techy knowledge

SoupDragon · 11/06/2012 09:12

It is the inbuilt Nagger sub-routine. It has detected that you have unfinished chores and thus should not be MNing.

FrankWippery · 11/06/2012 14:36

Chores? CHORES? Why on earth do you think I have children? It's so they can do me chores for me Grin

Anyway MNHQ it is still happening. Have you sent Tech on a cruise or locked them in a cupboard? Have you all drunk the gin stocks?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 11/06/2012 14:38

Did you accept the new cookie policy when that popped up a while ago?
