Every time the site goes down MNHQ say that Tech is working on it in his shed. It doesn't matter what time of day or night it is, Tech seems to be working in his shed. So either:

1. Tech is very lonely and has no home life so spends all his time in his shed

or 2. Tech is a slave for MNHQ

So tell us MNHQ, which is it? I am concerned that by being a MNer member I am being a hypocrite by also supporting Amnesty International.

Tech is a general term for a group of gnome like very computer literate beings which live in small dwelling similar to a shed.
They have to live separately as they have a tendency to bite guests and overindulge on biscuits.

and then you have a home visit to check the suitability of your shed accomodation as it needs quite up to date technology installed. You really wouldn't want to have a bored Tech, they are very destructive and prone to cause a "offline for a few moments" incident.

It's a lovely shed painted in F&B natch, with sunshine and oranges!

But, but, there's a third possibility. Tech may be very happy to be in the shed. A shed can be a place for contemplation about such things as life, the universe, and who the heck in MNTowers has just pushed the BRB (big red button). The concept of Sheddiness is not very well known, but seems to involve being able to be pretty laid back about most things until the Call To Action, when a True Sheddi will be able to lay their hands on exactly what's needed, whilst not being in the least bit surprised that it wasn't where they'd left it. In fact, some Sheddis do that so effortlessly that they're regarded as Sheddi Knights.

It doesn't matter where a True Shed (TM) is, because in some mysterious way they're all connected via Shedspace, but each has a convenient mouse worm hole to the nearest pub.

So, Tech might be perfectly content with his lot. But it's best to be on alert for an offline message of "Help! I'm being held prisoner in a damp outhouse!" But that would be a very brief message, because probably MNHQ has an override button, which would put up an anodyne message instead, and then deprive Tech of his tea-and-biscuit rations for a week.

As for F&B paint in a shed ? no, no, that's misdirection, that is. It's creosote only for a shed. Gives a lovely patina and clears the lungs.

Sunshine and oranges are good. Lots of vitamens D and C. But, Tech cannot live on those alone.
