Dear MNHQ can I ask your views on the legal position of an advisory website?

Hi I am a medical student, formerly lawyer, and an MNer of varying identity. I am writing a paper on healthcare resources. I was wondering, clearly you spearheaded a campaign for reforming libel law but you have many topics on health and many boards for posting health questions. You have a liability exclusion at the top of the page - what is your stance on the legal obligations of websites that provide health advice? When do you think a duty should be imposed? Have you known of any cases where bad advice has been taken?

I know you're very busy in MN Towers eating biscuits but if you have a spare moment it would be really helpful to know your position.

Thanks

Hi entropy,

Goes without saying that this is several storeys above my paygrade, but would you mind emailing this in as a query (to [email protected])? That way it's a bit easier for us to get a response for you.

Thanks
