Hello. It's recently become clear to us cos some very nice MNers mailed us to tell us so that not very many of you know about our very lovely Nearly New boards in Mumsnet Local.

Basically, it's a place where you can sell, swap or give away Nearly New stuff to MNers who live near you.

It's free to use - and you can even upload fancy pics and everything!

Do please go and have a look - and use it if you can. It's a great way to clear out clobber you no longer need but that someone else may absolutely love to have

My town is not represented, there are two either side (NE Scotland) but completely impractical in large remote areas like Scotland to only have the major towns. Maybe counties would be a better way to go?

MelodyPondering · 26/04/2012 17:32

Can't get it to work at all on mobile site...

Byeckerslike · 26/04/2012 17:34

CiderwithBuda · 26/04/2012 17:51

And, yes, we do know that some Mumsnet Locals are tumbleweed a bit less busy than is ideal.

That's why we're planning a revamp - it'll all be much better organised and all round super-busy .

But, as it'll be a little while coming, we'd thought we'd big up the Nearly New boards now. Cos they work - and they're v useful (potentially)

Really? Well that is good to know!

RaisingEmbers · 26/04/2012 19:43

Is it just me, or is there no time/date against the ads? I had a look at my local on your say so, and there are a few adverts, but I have no idea how long they've been sat there unnoticed.

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 26/04/2012 19:51

I put something on my local nearly new boards a couple of months back which I don't think was seen by anyone.

I managed to find somewhere else to advertise put it, that was open to all mumsnetters, I can't remember which topic I advertised put it under but someone was interested straight away

So I did know about the Nearly New Boards but found them a bit rubbish Grin Hope that helps!

Link doesn't work on iPhone app

mistressploppy · 26/04/2012 20:29

Ohh, just what I've been looking for! No-one looks in the 'For Free' topic either...

Plaguegroups · 26/04/2012 21:52

So how does the postcode thing work then, will anyone and everyone be able to see which street I live in Confused or does the advert not specify username?

Solo · 27/04/2012 00:48

Yay!!!

lilbreeze · 27/04/2012 06:48

I'm on Android and can enter my postcode but nothing happens when I try to Submit.

DilysPrice · 27/04/2012 07:46

Ditto lilibreeze, but I'm on iPhone

JustFab · 27/04/2012 08:04

You can untick the 'show nickname' box if you want, Plaguegroups. Or you could do a quick namechange.

What doesn't work, exactly, Somethinginthewoodshed? Can you not get into Mumsnet Local at all? Or just not get into the Nearly New boards?

I've just added a couple of bits & thought I should let you know it wasn't at all easy Confused -

The software did very strange things with my photos - made them all stripeyConfused & every time I tried to edit the striped photos - it changed the pound sign to a list of numbers & symbols - at one point my item was showing as for sale for $3325Shock

I got there in the end, but its taken about 6 goes with each upload - might that be because I use a MAC, rather than PC ??

Macdog · 27/04/2012 11:42

I didn't know about NN boards.
Have now utilised Grin

Oh dear. That doesn't sound good. Sorry. Will pass your comments on to the Tech team. Hope you find a buyer/taker!
