I don't usually mind ads etc.. but that long boden one on the right of active convo's is really off putting.

(Oh, sorry Justine, didn't see you were there in flagrante!)

JustineMumsnet · 21/01/2006 22:33

Go on, go on, go on - you can always send it back.

Whizzz · 21/01/2006 22:35

DH just does things to the PC - I think it's so I can' t buy anything

Janh · 21/01/2006 22:36

Why are Boden selling Mark Warner uniform shirts?

starlover · 21/01/2006 22:37

pmsl jan

bubblerock · 21/01/2006 22:41

It is the biggest advert for Boden Women currently available on Tradedoubler there are alternatives, it just seems a bit ott and is invading chat. Just my opinion though and it won't stop me using mumsnet unfortunately - been on here far too much recently!

If it's too big, could you it could tell me your browser size? If you go to the homepage here , do you need to scroll across (left to right) to get the whole page?

PrincessPeaHead · 21/01/2006 23:00

well I noticed it, thought "oh, I need some things from there", clicked on it and spent £50 ...

so do I get a gold star??!

LadySherlockofLGJ · 21/01/2006 23:00

No

Pixiefish · 21/01/2006 23:02

Hadn't noticed it tbh and have to say now that I have that it doesn't bother me in the least

Aloha · 21/01/2006 23:02

What would be more annoying? A slightly large but tasteful Boden advert, or no Mumsnet? Because that is really the choice here.

starlover · 21/01/2006 23:05

just be glad it's not a milupa ad

JustineMumsnet · 21/01/2006 23:07

PPH - yes!

actually instead of a gold star can you just do a small labour-dance for me at mumsnet towers? 3 or 4 minutes should do it. ta

bubblerock · 21/01/2006 23:11

Hope you used the £10 discount code for Boden that I posted PPH

Justine - I don't need to scroll across to see the page, it fits within the window, I guess if I could scroll across I'd just move the page to get rid of the advert. Like I said, it's just my personal opinion, I think the advert is invasive and it bugs me.

harpsichordcarrier · 21/01/2006 23:12

wotcha buy pph?

bubblerock · 21/01/2006 23:15

Aloha - I don't think that moving the ad or making it slightly smaller would mean the end of Mumsnet.

OP posts:
starlover · 21/01/2006 23:16

well presumably boden pay a certain amount for a certain amount of space.

if mumsnet need the revenue then we need to put up with it!

PrincessPeaHead · 21/01/2006 23:18

oh poo, didn't see that bubblerock.

bought a couple of pairs of trousers for ds1 and a couple of belts for him too - he has NO BOTTOM and can't keep trousers up to save his life and is getting to the age where his builder's bottom is embarrassing him at school poor thing!

I'm not sure the belts are going to work, he needs braces I think

bubblerock · 21/01/2006 23:18

No, Mumsnet can choose the advert that they place on the site from a selection on Tradedoubler.

OP posts:
edam · 21/01/2006 23:25

It's OK, I suppose. As long as MN Towers doesn't start putting ads on the actual threads. That would be A Step Too Far IMO.

JustineMumsnet · 21/01/2006 23:32

Can't do that PPH - too risky might go into labour meself and not ready yet but we'll keep everything crossed for you - good luck .

Aloha · 21/01/2006 23:48

I think that as we all use this site for nothing and Justine and co work hard for little or no money to provide this service, we aren't really in a position to complain about a perfectly ordinary ad.

bubblerock · 21/01/2006 23:53

I think we are all allowed an opinion
