Please can someone teach me how you do links from one thread to another

I was new here last year and also quite new at using a computer
(Techno- dinosaur) so please can someone help me.

I know how to do a link to a website like this:

flyLady.net but how on earth do you link from one thread to another?

Do you have to type all the really long stuff up there?
For example :www.mumsnet.com/talk/Whatevertopic

Also how do people do a "One word" link, when they just type "Here" ??Confused

You do need to put all the long stuff ^^ up there but you can shortcut.
Do you know how to cut and paste???

to do links is below:
www.mumsnet.com gives www.mumsnet.com
Mumsnet gives Mumsnet
You can also insert a link without any formatting, e.g. www.mumsnet.com/
Ticking "Convert links automatically" will turn any links that look like www.mumsnet.com/ into www.mumsnet.com/
