Homepage? Really? Wow. Who'd a thunk?

Jasper · 03/01/2012 01:43

Never

Tee2072 · 03/01/2012 06:37

I do believe Chais means 'stat' and not 'stet' up there. 'Ster' being the opposite of what she's asking for.

And I never go to the homepage.

Tee2072 · 03/01/2012 06:38

Er...Chaos....

Tee2072 · 03/01/2012 06:38

Oh FFS. It's catching!

nooka · 03/01/2012 06:52

I've the talk page bookmarked, but generally speaking don't really close my mumsnet window. I can't remember the last time I looked at the Homepage, or really anywhere other than talk.

RowanTheRedNosedMumsnet · 03/01/2012 13:19

PLEASE go look at the home page occasionally. At random points during the week we put up next week's winning lottery numbers, the current location of Lord Lucan, the results of November's presidential election, etc etc.

Anyways it does acksherly get loads of hits (one of the most-visited pages on the site) so someone's looking at it

ChaosTrulyReigns · 03/01/2012 13:55

Not the important regs Rowan dear.

But if you want to stick ALL the advertising on the Home Page, that's fine by us.

I do look occasionally (Sorry, Cahos) but not very often.

Am enjoying the MNetters Tips such as the ice cube wine thing.

Can we not inundate MNHQ with our best alternative tip of the week?

Such as:

If you have a little bit of wine left in the bottle, drink it.

Don't ever ever buy glitter. It is the work of the devil, and should stay as a special treat at Granny's house

These ones are already in the MNetters style:

Instead of playing a matching cards game, teach your kids the joys of making a massive pile of clean socks into pairs. (googietheegg)

Don't serve cous cous when you've just cleaned the kitchen floor. (wakesandquakes)

For super-fast bedroom tidying - sweep entire collection of tat into black bin liner. Leave for a week for DC to collect anything they want out of it, then throw away. I only ever need threaten the bin liner now... (tiawomt)

ChaosTrulyReigns · 03/01/2012 14:07

Lock the DC in the bathroom with some Flash while you MN for an hour. You never know, some good may happen.

That sort of thing?

Mmmm [ponders].

Toilet brushes are disgusting. Let your four-year-old shove his little sister's head down the loo instead?

If you ignore the kids for long enough they will either occupy themselves or run away? In either event you will find yourself with much more free time to mumsnet do the ironing?

If you leave things in the ironing pile long enough the creases flatten themselves out?

To save time, don't bother washing the floor/windows/children today. You can just do it once next year tomorrow instead?

I like this game.

MaryZed · 03/01/2012 14:18

In fact, I should really start an "alternative" tip of the day instead.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 03/01/2012 14:20

Do it.

Do it.

Do it.

[excited]

OP posts:
MmeLindor. · 03/01/2012 14:44

Yes, Mary has been on MN long enough to really understand this game-

MaryZed · 03/01/2012 15:10

Oops, sorry, can't do it today.

I have important real life to attend to [preens].

See ya Thursday (and I'll do a proper thread then if no-one else has - maybe I'll even make discussion of the day).

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/01/2012 15:10

YABU to use AIBU to ask !

MaryZed · 03/01/2012 15:12

If she had posted in AIBU you would be frothing correctly of course

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/01/2012 15:20
