To clear up the stupidly long topic list, and get everything down to ten topics....

Can it be done?

Can you come up with a list of ten topics which would cover everything (ie not just your favourite stuff)? You are allowed a sensible number of subtopics, say four or so).

My suggestion would be:

Pregnancy (you'd have to subdivide to cover TTC, antenatal choices, testing etc)

Children

Education

Special Needs

Relationships

Chat

Hobbies (includes Telly addicts and Pets, maybe camping etc)

Products (selling and reviewing thereof, style and beauty)

Politics (current affairs, feminism etc)

Food

Er, is that everything? Can you do better?

Yes please. There are solo many topics I feel like if I dare venture into some of the more obscure ones I'll find S&M or jam-jar glasses-wearing chess players.

Slightly off topic, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD can someone please tell me how to find the sport and exercise topic off the main topic list?

Tried to post something the other day and looked through (I think) body and soul, health, in the club and a few others and in the end had to resort to waiting for a post to pop up in active conversations so I could link to it.

Benandholly - on the right hand side of the blue bar just above the list of topics is a link 'Topics A-Z Click on that and you get all the topics in alphabetical order. croll down, past the interminable list of Mumsnet local (which, since we're on the subject of change, really ought to be accessed on a subpage by clicking on Mumsnet local) and you'll find Sport and Exercise among the Ss.

Oh and it would be really nice if we could make the Topic list stay alphabetical if we wanted to....

Oh, and if you do want to find it in the subject list, it's under 'Fun and Games' but to see it you either need to click on 'more' at the end of the list after Fun and Games, or on the Show All link on the blue bar next to Topics A-Z
