Crows and magpies are lovely. And ravens and rooks and jackdaws. Stop being corvidist.

ColdSancerre · 04/11/2011 10:19

Ravens don't have grey heads. Jackdaws? Do you live in the highlands as they could be hooded crows?

Thumbwitch · 04/11/2011 10:21

Magpies are NOT lovely they are bastards! All of them. The UK ones kill the little birds and the Australian ones are just bastards.

I have nothing against jackdaws, ravens and rooks - although I have my doubts about crows, ever since reading Watership Down.

VajazzleMyFoof · 04/11/2011 10:22

Nope i live in Stoke. Yes jackdaws, thats what i meant. Blush

VajazzleMyFoof · 04/11/2011 10:22

Crows eat ducklings too. Ive seen it with my own eye.
Was traumatised for months. Poor little duckling.

ColdSancerre · 04/11/2011 10:24

Yes but big things kill little things in nature. It's the way. Like killer whales and seals. Still love orcas.

I'm going to start campaigning for more corvid love and understanding.

ColdSancerre · 04/11/2011 10:25

Herons eat ducklings too. DP has a picture of a duckling flying along upside down in the mouth of a mouth, beak open as it is squawking away.

VajazzleMyFoof · 04/11/2011 10:25

Have you never seen that film 'The Birds' werent they crows. Pecking people to death and pecking oue eyes Shock

ColdSancerre · 04/11/2011 10:30

That was fiction vajazzle.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 04/11/2011 10:34

Crows, ravens.... They're big scary birds innit! (Goes Cockney for effect)

Although they're pretty smart buggers
