how about renaming AIBU?

So, some posters, such as myself, trills, bibbity and biwi have been posting on threads in the aibu topic that don't belong there, that the threads are in the wrong place and reporting. So mnhq has been moving them (thank you btw) but there are posters who find this irritating. I think a big reason for the "aibu to tell you about the shoes I bought today" type threads is that people just post there without thinking about its function. And while the name was great when it was started, perhaps a clearer title would be better. Something like debates and rants.

Less random posting.

Gives newbies a better idea of its function.

Leaves less room for interpretation.

i think that we have to accept that 'aibu' is very appealing to new posters and we can hide it if we want

forum lovers will still hunt out all areas of the site though hopefully

Maybe we need a poll about this as well?

There seem to be a half dozen posters really getting their knickers in a knot over AIBU and what should or shouldn't be posted there - I'm pretty sure the rest of us are quite happy with the way things are.

Why can't those posters

I dunno, Maryz though it has a certain appeal if you've been on duty all day

OracleInaCoracle · 17/09/2011 23:31

i like whingers and whiners. the problem with aibu is that anything can be manipulated into the title: aibu to make a cuppa?

aibu to leave my children in the kennel?

aibu to cook sunday lunch?

aibu to ask you all to look at my pile(s)?

TrillianAstra · 17/09/2011 23:37

Whingers, whiners, ranters & ravers.

We can still shout YABU at them, but it'll sound like we're just saying ya-boo.

OracleInaCoracle · 18/09/2011 14:43

Fights, rants and judgey pants?

Trills, as in yah boo sucks?!
