I think it is because html uses code in bracketty thingies so it sees stuff in thingies as code not text to display.

you will also find that anything in thingies is not searchable wether in title or message.

If it was just because of the coding that wouldn't display differently on different menus. It must be because of the way the code is parsed in different menu loads I think.
