Sorting "Threads I'm on"

I've noticed that this seems not to work the way it should -- the sort options 'My latest post' and 'Most recently active' seem to be reversed in terms of what they achieve. Is this general, or have I accidentally fallen into Looking Glass world? Or am I just being v. v. stupid in some way?

OOOOOo - what is this new blue banner thingy? it's BIG! and kind of intrusive - but I guess I'll get used to it...

And, and - when I've posted something, and the page redisplays to include my new post, it has a ton of white space at the top next to the ads; formatting ishoos?
