Are these posts allowed on MN? Or am i being a grumpy old woman and should stick to hiding them?

nice title Grin

i find the irritating especially when the poster isn't a reg

Lulumaam · 07/02/2011 17:38

I don't like them particuarly when it's someone who has joined only to garner votes

if twas a regular, then i don't mind as much

Adair · 07/02/2011 17:38

done Grin

hope you get the cruise and free cornish pasties for life...

ChaosTrulyReigns · 07/02/2011 17:40

Don't vote. It's a front for a particularly rubbish paedophile gang.

IngridBergmann · 07/02/2011 17:43

No AFAIK they were banned last year when there was an almighty kerfuffle about some crummy car competition.

People tend not to care what the person is like, because they assume it's a regular MNer and vote to be nice and as if it were family or something.

But sometimes the person is a) a right tit and b) has just joined to get votes and never posted here in their life.

In which case I think they should only be allowed under non member requests complete with fee.

DuplicitousBitch · 07/02/2011 17:44

they always look freaky as well, studio pics where the baby's head looks like it has sunk too far into the chest. op your neighbours uncles mates girlfriends dog is the exception obviously

Bertina · 07/02/2011 17:46

They piss me off tbh.

I think it's a bit close to cheating - plenty of other entrants won't have a resource like mn to dip into.

Not.
Cricket.

[dim view]

PS I have looked at your neighbour's uncle's mate's girlfriend's dog on YouTube via faceache and have decided not to vote for it in the baby competition because I couldn't help but notice your gran said 'proberly' instead of 'probably' and I am a screaming great snob.

Lulumaam · 07/02/2011 17:51

I tend to search the name if it's not one I recognise Blush

PaperView · 07/02/2011 19:37

Don't blame you PaperView (great name btw). I think they are irritating frankly, not fair and just plain stupid.

PaperView · 07/02/2011 19:44

I sometimes vote for some other bugger just to thwart them Grin

Would that be his present career or his previous one PPV?

PaperView · 07/02/2011 19:57

lol!

erm....i don't know Blush will PM u!

OP posts:
whomovedmychocolate · 07/02/2011 20:32

Thank you for the PM. It's a relief, thought the MiB needed to be dispatched for a mo then Grin

belledechocchipcookie · 07/02/2011 20:34
Grin

I would vote for you but.....I avoid stuff like this. Sorry (not)

whomovedmychocolate · 07/02/2011 20:36

I will vote for you if you send me five pounds. This figure rises to £50 if you are related to Nick Griffin.

catinthehat2 · 07/02/2011 20:40

paperview, I agree & luvs you lots but you won't stamp it out it's like a horrible virus of stupidity feeding on manipulation

belledechocchipcookie · 07/02/2011 20:40

Oh bugger. I missed out on this trick! Sad

BitOfFun · 07/02/2011 20:42

Remind me what happened about the car one again? Or was it a campervan? I remember it turning a bit nasty.

catinthehat2 · 07/02/2011 20:58

"I sometimes vote for some other bugger just to thwart them"

I never thought of that one. Genuinely. Usually I do that sort of thing automatically.

How did I miss that? Confused

PaperView · 07/02/2011 21:54

lol @ thwarting Grin

Hello. We do tend to delete these threads when they are reported to us.

That's partly because we can tell from our inbox that they tend to annoy you, and partly because they are now happening in such increasing number that, if we allowed them, Active Convos would be over-run.

(And there's only so many Bonnie Baby contenders you can stomach in one day...)

ThePosieParker · 08/02/2011 13:45

Oh hun your babe with three noses is gorge.
